CSAB Special Round for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs 2025 - The Central Seat Allocation Board will announce the CSAB 2025 special round dates online. The CSAB special round 2025 will commence in July 2025. Students who have been allotted seats in JoSAA counselling or other seeking an upgrade of their previously allotted seats in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs can participate in CSAB Special Rounds 2025. Registration is required online for students to participate. Candidates with valid JEE Main scores will be eligible special rounds CSAB 2025 for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. The authority will conduct two rounds of counselling fill vacant seats at NITs, IIITs and GFTIs through CSAB 2025.
The authority will announce the CSAB Special round seat allotment online. Candidates will be able to check the special round seat allotment on the website, csab.nic.in. Candidates require their JEE Main 2025 application number and password to register for the CSAB special round 2025.

Candidates who wish to appear in the CSAB special round 2025 for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs must fulfil the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria of the CSAB special round 2025 include the following conditions.
Candidates must have qualified JEE Main with a valid rank to be eligible for the CSAB special round.
Candidates who are not allotted any seat in JoSAA or who did not appear in JoSAA 2025 counselling can participate in the CSAB special round (NITs, IIITs and GFTIs).
Those who have been allotted any seat in NITs, IIITs or GFTIs through JoSAA and chosen for participation in the CSAB 2025 special round during reporting to the allotted institute can participate in special round counselling
Students who chose not to participate in the CSAB special round during reporting after JoSAA counselling are not eligible to take part in the CSAB special round 2025 counselling for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.
Candidates can check the detailed step-by-step procedure for participating in the CSAB special round for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs 2025.
First, the candidates must register for the counselling process in online mode for participation. Students must register using the application number and password of their JEE Main 2025.
Candidates have to upload their educational qualifications and category documents, wherever applicable. The details of the applicant will be taken from the JEE Main application form and they have to upload the scanned images of documents only.
The documents needed by the candidates to participate in the counselling process are:

Marksheet of Class 12
Category certificate - Gen-EWS, OBC NCL, SC & ST candidates
PwD certificate, if applicable in the prescribed format from a competent authority
NRI candidates need to upload a scanned image of their Passport.
OCI/PIO candidates need to upload the OCI/PIO card.
Candidates will be needed to provide their bank account details and marks out of 500 in their 12th class exam.
Students have to take utmost care while filling in the information in the CSAB special round registration 2025 as the information once submitted can not be modified at later stages.

Candidates have to pay the counselling participation fees to participate in the CSAB special round for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs 2025.
They need to pay the required fees online through credit/debit card or internet banking. Students who participate in the CSAB special round after participating in JoSAA also have to pay the counselling fees again.

Candidates have to fill in their choices of colleges after the payment of counselling participation fees.
They have to fill in the choices from the list of colleges available to them as per their rank and category.
Students must note that they must enter fresh choices for the CSAB special round for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs 2025 as the choices entered during JoSAA will not be considered.
Candidates need to lock their choices before the last date of choice locking. The detailed process for filling choices and locking is as follows,
Students will be able to see a list of all colleges as per their rank and category.
Candidates will also see the tentative seat matrix with the number of seats available in all the colleges visible to them.
They have to enter fresh choices for the colleges in which admission is wanted.
Choices must be filled in the order of preference.
Candidates need to fill as many choices as available to them to increase their possibilities of seat allotment.
Students must lock their choices before the last date of choice locking failing which their filled choices will be automatically locked.

The counselling authority will announce the seat allotment results of the CSAB special round for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs 2025 in online mode.
The seat allotment result will be declared in online mode as per the scheduled dates. Students have to log in to their candidate portal to check the status of the CSAB special round seat allotment result.
Students who will be allotted a seat will be required to exercise any one option from the choices given below,
Freeze: The candidate accepts the allotted seat.
Slide: Students accept the seat with the option of accepting a higher preference within the same institute allotted in the next round. In case the higher preferred choice is not allotted in the next round, he/she will continue with the currently accepted academic program.
Float: Candidates accept the seat with the option of accepting a higher preference in the next round from any institute. In case the higher preferred choice is not allotted in the next round, he/she will continue with the currently accepted academic program.
Surrender & Participate in the Next Round: The candidate rejects the allotted seat and wishes to participate in the next round of counselling. They will be considered for choices above the allotted choices of round one. Those candidates will not have any option of taking the choice allotted in round one.
Surrender & not Participate in Next Round: Candidate rejects the allotted seat and does not wish to participate in the next round of counselling. Those candidates will not have any option of taking the choice allotted in round one.
Students will not be permitted any seat in round one can select the option of not exercising the option for round two counselling. They will exit the counselling process of CSAB special round for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs 2025.
Candidates who will be allotted a seat in the special round have to pay the seat acceptance fees in online mode to confirm admission.

Candidates who select the option of “Freeze”, “Slide” or “Float” after round one seat allotment result and have paid the seat acceptance fees, their uploaded documents will be verified online mode by the allotted institute.
Such candidates have to regularly check their status in the candidate portal by login. Candidates who select the option of “Freeze” will have to report to the allotted institute once confirm their admission after document verification.
Candidates who select the option of “Slide” or “Float” will not required to report to the allotted institute at this stage.
Candidates who will be allotted a seat after round two-seat allotment results will have the option of either rejecting or accepting the seat as CSAB special round for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs 2025 will have only two rounds of counselling.
Those who will be allotted a seat need to pay the seat acceptance fees and check for admission confirmation by the institute.
They have to report to the allotted institute for completing the admission process and appearing the classes.
The fees paid as counselling participation fees will be adjusted in the tuition fees after deducting Rs.1500 as a counselling charge.
Students will have to report to the allotted institute after their seat is confirmed by the college/institute in which seat is allotted.
The confirmation of admission will be displayed in the online portal of the candidate which they have to check by the login.
They need to download their seat allotment letter and report to the allotted college/institute within the stipulated due dates failing which their admission will get cancelled.
Candidates need to carry all the educational qualifications documents and other documents as specified in their seat allotment letter while reporting to the allotted institute.
