Hey! With a GMR rank of 22,259 and SC rank of 1996 in WBJEE 2025, getting Jadavpur University for BE is quite difficult, especially for CSE, IT, or ECE, since cutoffs for these branches are very high even under SC quota. However, you might have some chances in lower cutoff branches like Civil, Mechanical, or Production Engineering, depending on the 2025 cutoff trends. I’d suggest you keep Jadavpur as an option but also fill choices for other government colleges like Kalyani Government Engineering College, Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, and HIT Kolkata, as your chances are better there.
Hey! With a GMR rank of 85,851 and SC rank of 10,051 in WBJEE, chances for getting CSE, IT, or core branches like Electrical/EEE in government colleges are unfortunately very slim. The cutoffs for these streams under SC quota generally close at a much better rank. However, you might still explore a few options in private colleges under the WBJEE counselling process, where you can get CSE/IT at this rank. If you are only targeting government colleges, then options in these specific branches look difficult, but you can consider other branches in lower cutoff govt. engineering colleges like civil or production if your main aim is a government seat. Otherwise, private colleges will be more realistic for CSE/IT.
Hey Saloni:)
Thanks for reaching out!
Yes , There's a good chance for you to get a seat in Kalyani Government Engineering College in the later rounds of WBJEE counselling, since there are multiple rounds, many students either upgrade or leave their seats, which opens up opportunities for others. Based on previous years cutoffs, the SC category closing ranks for KGEC in later rounds were much higher than your ranks ,so this puts you in a safer position, if not in first round, you may get your preferred college in the following rounds.
Just make sure to place KGEC high in your preference list
Hello
With 8588 rank in WBJEE GMR and 1451 rank in TFW, it is highly unlikely for you to get any B.Tech branch in Jadavpur University even for the TFW quota as the cutoff rank of top branches has been around 1000 rank and the lower ones have been around 3000 rank and as your rank is a lot higher than that, it won't be possible.
Thank You!!!
Hii dream !
The official 2024 closing rank for Jadavpur University was :
Since the final 2025 data is not out the prediction of you getting a seat in various courses ( as per 2024 data is )
But don't get disheartened and as official cut off list is not out and we never know what can happen next. Wish you all the best.
