TNEA Special Reservation Criteria 2019: TNEA reservation criteria 2019 reserves certain number of seats under special reservation category for sons and daughters of freedom fighters, ex-servicemen and eminent sports personalities. Admission to candidates under special reservation category is processed by a separate committee. Students who apply through this category need to enclose the special reservation form in prescribed format along with the main application form. Instructions for Obtaining Certificates of Reservation: Candidates who are applying for admission under reserved category must submit the certificate as per the TNEA reservation criteria 2019 prescribed format duly attested by the competent authority. Application form with inappropriate/incomplete category certificates will be summarily rejected and will not be considered for admission. Revenue Divisional Officer / Sub Collector of their native place (except Chennai) or P.A. (General) to Collector of Chennai. The Community Certificate card issued by Tahsildars upto 11.11.1989 is valid.
Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled caste Arunthathiyars (SCA)
Tahsildar of Native Taluk of the candidate
Backward class (BC), Backward class Muslim (BCM), Most backward class and Denotified communities (MBC & DNC)
Headquarters Deputy Tahsildar / Zonal Deputy Tahsildar / Deputy Tahsildar (Certificates)

Eligible Health Conditions for Differently Abled Persons: Students who are claiming reservation under TNEA reservation criteria 2019 for differently abled person category must meet the below mentioned health condition
Eligibility for Orthopaedic Disabled Candidates: Candidates with permanent physical impairment of 40 % or above are eligible for claiming reservation against differently abled person category. Such candidates must meet the below mentioned eligibility
Independent in ambulance with or without calipers but without walking aids.
Good standing balance without callipers but without any support.
Able to perform hand function with normal limit without any aid
Disease must be non progressive
Eligibility for Hearing Disabled Candidates: Candidates with hearing ability of 40 db and above only in the better ear with speech discrimination score of 50 % and above are eligible for claiming reservation against differently abled persons category.
Eligibility for Vision Impaired Candidates: Candidates with low vision of 40 % and above are eligible for claiming reservation against differently abled persons category. Person with low vision means a person with impairment of vision of less than 6/18 to 6/60 with best correction in the better eye or impairment of field in any one of the following categories:
Reduction of fields less than 50 degrees
Hemianopia with macular involvement
Attitudinal defect involving lower fields categories of visual disability
Important Points regarding TNEA Reservation Criteria 2019 : Students who are applying for admissions under TNEA 2019 reservation criteria should follow the below mentioned points.
Candidates who are native of Tamil Nadu will only be considered for communal reservation
Student should have obtained permanent community certificate in permanent card/plastic card, digitally e-signed certificate or electronic form.
Only those communities will be offered communal reservation which are approved by Tamil Nadu government.
Community certificate obtained from other states will not be considered for reservation.
Candidates who are claiming reservation against communities which are linked with districts, certificate should be obtained from competent district authority.
Candidates who are called for reservation under ex-servicemen category need to produce the discharge certificate and ex-servicemen ID card of their parent.
Candidates who are applying for admission under sports quota have to submit the application form, certificates and special reservation form in-person to Secretary, TNEA within specified date and time.
All the candidate must submit completely filled application form along with reservation certificate to Secretary, TNEA.
