JEE Main 2023 Marks vs Percentile Normalization:

Normalization is incorporated to equalize the difficulty levels of the exam when it is conducted in two sessions. So NTA will declare the percentile in JEE Main 2023 obtained after normalization. Percentile scores indicates the percentage of candidates that have scored equal to or below (same or lower raw scores) that particular percentile in that examination and this is generally from a scale of 100 to 0 for each session of examinees. Therefore, the higher scorer of each JEE Main 2023 session will end up securing the same percentile of 100 which is desirable.

NTA will compile the raw marks of the students and normalize the same to arrive at the percentile scores for each subject – Maths, Physics and Chemistry as well as total as a part of marking scheme of JEE Mains. The highest score of each JEE Main 2023 session will get the same percentile of 100 which is ideal. The marks obtained in between the highest and lowest scores will also be converted to percentiles. This percentile score will be used for the preparation of the merit lists. It is to be noted that the percentile scores will be calculated up to 7 decimal places such that bunching effect can be reduced as can ties amongst candidates with the same scores.

JEE Main Marks vs Percentile 2023 - How NTA Scores are Calculated

The detailed process with examples for the JEE Main normalization is explained here

Tie breaker guidelines: These guidelines come into effect when two or more candidates obtain equal percentile scores. The inter-se-merit- is determined in the order given as follows

  • Candidates obtaining higher Percentile Score in Physics will be given the higher JEE Main rank 2022.

  • Candidates obtaining higher Percentile Score in Chemistry will get the higher rank.

  • Candidates older in age will be given preference.

JEE Main 2023 result is released separately for each of the sessions on . NTA has announced the JEE Main result session 1 & 2. The best of the NTA scores is taken for candidates who attempt all the sessions. The merit list of JEE Main 2023 is prepared on the final scores and ranks announced on the basis of the same. You need to get a rank under 20,000 to get HBTI kanpur.
Then your general rank will be considered in all the seven round counseling.
JEE Main Cut off 2020.
Category JEE Main Cut Off for Paper 1
General EWS 70.2435518

Harcourt Butter Technical University is historically known for generating great Chemical Engineers from it's campus year after year who are recruited by erstwhile PSUs or Public Sector Undertakings like IOCL, HPCL, BARC, BHEL and so on. According to this year trends with 70 percentile in SC category the rank would be in range of 16k to 18k. With this statistics you can easily qualify Jee Main and can particiate in JEE Advanced but there is no chance of you to get any seat in any NIT under the other state quota.
There were a total of 2.6 lakh candidates who cleared the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains, out of which a total of 1.6 lakh students, including 50 NRI, have registered for the JEE (Advanced) 2022. Among them, 35625 SC candidates and 1875 SC-PWD candidates appeared making it to a total of 37500.
For the sc, you must receive at least 5% in each topic to qualify, with a minimum overall score of 17%. However, you need to score higher to acquire a decent rank or get into IIT. Aim for at least 30 to 40 percent on the exam.

I got 2892 rank in ST category in JEE Mains. Can i get admission in btech in JNU, Delhi?

Roshni 6th Sep, 2022

First of all, congratulations on your rank. Now, with a ST rank of 2892 you have a decent chance of getting into Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Delhi. Note that, this is a prediction solely based on previous year cutoff trend at JNU.

You can get Integrated B.Tech + M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering at JNU, as the closing rank in 2021 for this course was 3234.

I hope that was helpful.

what is the 20 percentile of up board of 2022

gupta.virat1357 6th Sep, 2022
According to your score 20 percentile in JEE mains , your rank will be under 1000000 . With this rank it is impossible to get any of the NITs or IIITs or CFTIs. Percentile indicates how many students have been outperformed by you in exam. Top 20 percentile means that you are ahead of 80% of the people. Percentile scores range from the 1st through 99th percentile, indicating the percentage of scores in the comparison group which are lower than the test taker's score. Generally the students are required to score more than 75% or above to enter to the top 20 percentile of their respective boards just to be eligible for joint entrance examination(JEE). Usually the cutoff marks for the general category students goes to 66-68%, for OBC 65-66% ,for SC 63% ,for ST 62.5% . Percentile ranks are often expressed as a number between 1 and 99, with 50 being the average. So if a student scored a percentile rank of 87, it would mean that they performed better than 87% of the other students in his norm group. There is no qualification criteria for giving JEE. For JEE you must have passed your class 12 board examination. But, to get admission into NIT/ IIT you'll have to be in the top 20 percentile of the boards.
In 2019, general category cutoff stood at 66.8%, fo 65.2% for other backward class (OBC), 63% for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 62.8% for Scheduled Tribes (ST).
So, usually for general category the percentage falls between 65-72. The official percentile data has not been declared by JOSAA yet.

is there any key change in provisional answer key and final answer key in jee advance 2022

Roshni 6th Sep, 2022

Provisional Answer Keys that are released right after the exam, contains all the correct answers to all the questions asked in that attempt of JEE. During this time, the candidates can challenge any particular question/(s) if they think that the answer given in the provisional answer key is wrong.

The JEE authority goes through these challenges (if any) and reevlautes their answer key, and if they discover that some of those questions are genuinely wrong then they decide to drop those questions. After that, they proceed to release the final answer key which is the closest to all correct answers.

For example, in one of the July 2022 attempts of JEE Mains 6 questions were dropped upon discovering that they were incorrect. So yes, if such a thing happens then you would see some changes in the final answer key which werent there in the provisional answer key.

I hope that was helpful.

Is 75 percent criteria in jee exam will come back in 2024?

gupta.virat1357 6th Sep, 2022
If you complete your 12th board exams in 2021 then you can attempt the JEE entrance exam for the year 2021, 2022, 2023. Hence you can't appear for the JEE 2024 as it's 4 th consecutive year. And for JEE mains 2021 you can attempt 4 times this year. The compulsory 75% criteria was removed in jee mains for admission to iit/nit/gfti/iiit for the year 2020 and 2021 due to the covid pandemic situation in the country. If the situation gets bacl to normal till next year then it is expected that this criteria will be again made compulsory. As per the latest notification, the NTA has removed 75% marks criteria from the minimum eligibility percentage norms. However when it comes to JEE Mains Arch & Planning candidates must score a minimum of 50% marks in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics along with 50% aggregate in the overall examination. You won't get admission in nits and iits if you don't score above 75% above board. Jee main score is else valid for all other colleges. But your admission depends on criteria of a particular college. Generally, candidates are required to have 75% or more in their class 12 final exams or they should be in the top 20 percentile in order to avail admission into the IITs, NITs, and GFTIs. No, you will not be eligible for admission in NITs/IIITs/IITs on the basis of JEE-Main 2023 or JEE-Advance 2023 score if the criteria of 75% gets restored in 2023 and you have not secured 75% or more in board examinations of 2022.
This criteria has been relaxed due to temporary effect because of COVID-19 and if everything goes well in 2023 then this criteria might get restored.
However you will be eligible to appear for JEE-Main 2023 because to appear in JEE-Main so even if you score less than 75% marks in 10+2 or equivalent than also you can appear for JEE-Main 2023 even if the criteria gets restored but you won't be eligible for admission to NITs/IIITs/CFTIs neither you will be eligible for JEE-Advance 2023 even if you qualify JEE-Main 2023.
