5 Study Habits of JEE Main Toppers - JEE Main toppers follow a fixed schedule and study habits to achieve the top ranks. Students need to maintain a consistent study schedule, giving equal importance to all three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Students need to start early for preparation and to study for 8-10 hours daily. The JEE Main is considered one of the toughest exams in India. Toppers generally go for mock tests, analysing strengths and weaknesses, and manage time efficiently. Another important thing is to maintain consistency throughout the JEE preparation. After qualifying the JEE Mains, candidates take the JEE Advanced exam to get admission in IITs. Based on the scores in JEE Main, students can check their chances of getting into NITor IIIT by using the JEE Main college predictor.
The biggest change that was introduced in JEE Mains 2025 question paper was removal of optional questions, introduced in Covid, from section B of both JEE Main papers -- paper 1 and paper 2. From then onwards, the section carries 5 compulsory questions instead of 10 with options.
Follow these 5 habits of JEE Mains toppers that will help you to score high score.
The most common habit seen in JEE Main toppers is that they study for 8-10 hours daily. The toppers study for 8-10 hours in a structured way. They usually form sessions of 2-3 hours for each subject. While preparing for JEE Main, they first emphasise high-weightage topics and then go on to easy subjects. Besides, they take regular short breaks to keep their mind fresh. The main habit of JEE Main toppers is to study for 8-10 hours in a scheduled way.
The JEE Main toppers study all subjects, giving equal importance to each of them. They practice all the subjects - Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in a balanced routine. Moreover, time is given to understanding complex topics, practising formulas, and revising chapters. Students are advised to focus on all the NCERT books and read every concept in the books. Never neglect a paper because it seems easy. Practice each question and concept of every subject.
Students should regularly practice the previous year's question papers. Solving previous year’s question papers helps students to have a basic understanding of the question concepts, exam pattern, and difficulty level. The question paper also helps students to manage time effectively and to analyse which section takes the most time. This also helps candidates find their strengths and weaknesses, allowing them to do focused revision. Regular solving of previous year papers boosts confidence, problem-solving quality, time management, and accuracy.
Aspirants usually skip solving the mock test, which played an important role in preparation for JEE toppers. After completing the syllabus, toppers never forget to solve the mock test in said duration. This way they find out their weak and strong sections and then prepare accordingly. The mock tests also help in analysing which section or question takes more time.
Most of the time aspirants focus on studying hard and skip their favourite task to cover syllabus on time. But JEE toppers never do that, they take out time for their hobbies and interests to relax their mind. They know that only a relaxed mind can focus better. Hence, every aspirant should take short breaks to feel refreshed, hydrated and free. Regular breaks increase focus and help boost retention. Studying for 8-10 hours is necessary for the students. But having time for their personal interests and hobbies helps to maintain a healthy balance. If at least for half an hour, the candidate should have their interest in things. Taking regular breaks also helps in improving productivity in studies.

Hello,
JEE Main ke 75% eligibility ke liye marks calculation board ke total marks (as printed on marksheet) par based hoti hai, best of 5 nahi.
Agar aapke marksheet me total 355/500 likha hai, to wahi valid mana jayega.
Isliye agar ye 75% se kam hai, to aap JEE Main de sakte ho, par NIT, IIIT, ya GFTI admission ke liye eligible nahi hoge, unless aap SC/ST category se ho (unke liye 65% required hai).
Hope you understand.
