Top Engineering Colleges In India With High Faculty Student Ratio- As per NIRF ranking 2024, there are 26 top colleges in India with FSR of 30 marks. Each year, MoE devises the NIRF Ranking for various institutions. Faculty student ratio is a subcategory of Teaching, Learning & Resources parameter within the NIRF ranking. It simply means the number of teachers available for a set number of students. An ideal ratio is 1:15 which fetches a maximum score of 30. FSR carries a weightage of 30% in the overall NIRF score.
The Chemistry section covered Organic, Inorganic, and Physical Chemistry. Ajay Sharma noted that Inorganic Chemistry had fewer questions, while Organic and Physical Chemistry carried almost equal weight. Many questions were statement-based and inspired by NCERT. Ajay Sharma, National Academic Director, Engineering, Aakash Educational Services Limited said, “Chemistry was manageable for students familiar with NCERT, though careful reading and application of concepts were needed.”

Know more about-
Meaning- FSR is the ratio of full time faculty members against total approved student intake and PhD students enrolled.
Formula-
FSR= 30x[15x(F/N)]F: Full time regular faculty in the institution as per previous academic year.
N: Sum of total sanctioned approved intake in the institution in all UG and PG
programs and PhD students enrolled till the previous academic year.
F/N ratio of 1/15 is the benchmark. An F/N ratio of more than 1/50 will be equal to zero marks.
Contribution of Student Faculty Ratio to the NIRF Scores
Teaching, Learning & Resources parameter (TLR) is one of the five parameters considered for NIRF ranking. Individually FSR makes up 30% of the total NIRF score. Which means, a score of 30 in TLR will equate to a score of 9 overall.

A higher number of faculty per student means professors will be able to focus more on individual pupils. Invest more time for each student, thereby, increasing the efficiency of the education altogether. It also suggests the institute’s willingness to put more money into providing a good and equitable education to all its students.
