Rule of Changing Branch in IIITs - India is home to 26 IIITs. Every year, these institutions provide admission to a large number of BTech aspirants through JoSAA counselling. Nonetheless, it is possible that students may not always get admission to their desired B.Tech courses. In such cases, many IIITs provide a one-time option to change the branch after the first year. The colleges have a predefined set of rules for branch change in IIITs. The stream-changing option is allowed based on the academic eligibility of the candidates. Moreover, eligibility for changing branches in IIITs can be dependent on the course type, JEE Main result, seat vacancy and other factors. Read the article for more details on the list of IIITs that allow stream change and the branch-changing rules of IIITs.
