The Joint Lateral Entry Examination (JLEE) for Assam is conducted by the Assam Science and Technology University on May 9 for admissions to the third semester of B.E/B.Tech. Programme in Assam Engineering College, Jorhat Engineering College, Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology, Bineswar Brahma Engineering College, Girijananda Institute of Management and Technology and Girijananda Institute of Management and Technology. The application process of Assam JLEE 2019 is online and candidates are advised to check their eligibility before applying for the same.
The entrance test is pen and paper based with 100 multiple choice questions to be answered in 3 hours. The result will be declared online while counselling will be conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam.

JLEE Eligibility Criteria 2019 as specified by ASTU which is the conducting body for the exam explains the academic qualifications, age critieria, pass percentage and other details to determine the suitability of a candidate for admissions. The detailed eligibility of the Assam Joint Lateral Entry Examination 2019 isCandidates must have passed a recognized Diploma (Minimum 3 years duration) from any Polytechnic Institution affiliated to State Council of Technical Education (SCTE), Assam.They must have secured a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate in their diploma examination.Only permanent residents of Assam are eligible for JLEE 2019Candidates appearing in their final examination may also apply but have to submit their Original Mark sheet along with the pass certificate of the final Diploma as stipulated.

JLEE application form 2019 was released in online mode on May 31. The process of applying for JLEE is online with candidates required to register and then fill the details. Payment is online as well as offline through SBI Collect. The steps to fill the application of JLEE 2019 are as follows
1. Fill the JLEE application form 2019 - Starting with the course applied for, candidates have to fill all their personal details like Name, Father's Name, Mother's Name, date of birth, Age as on July 1, 2019, Nationality, Permanent Resident of Assam, address, category, exam centre, programme applied for.
2. Upload Photograph and Signature as specified below
Thereafter candidates have to enter a password of their choice to be used for future logins.
3. Payment of JLEE Application Fee: After submission of the details, candidates will be redirected to the payment page which allows them to pay the non-refundable application fee of Rs 1000 through SBI Collect. Candidates can pay via Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking. Candidates wishing to pay offline must first use the SBI Collect facility to generate the Cash Deposit Form and then make the payment at any Branch of State Bank of India.
Note: There is no need to send a copy of the JLEE Application Form 2019 or any other document to the authorities. Candidates are however advised to take a printout of the filled in application form for their reference.
Candidates must note the JLEE 2019 Form number/User name and Password as these will be required to download the admit card or check the result.
Candidates can retrieve their password by using the "Forgot Password" in case they don't remember their password.

The JLEE admit card is an important identity document which has to be carried by the candidates to the exam hall failing which they will not be allowed to appear for the exam. Candidates are advised to keep it safe as it may be required during counselling and admissions.

ASTU will announce the Merit list with the marks obtained by the candidates. There will be two merit list - the first one will be used for admissions in the first round of counselling while there will also be a waitlisted merit list for candidates who will be able to get a chance in case of vacancies. The Merit list of JLEE 2019 will be announced branchwise.
JLEE Cutoff is the minimum marks that may allow candidates a shot at admissions and a confirmed seat. These marks are announced by the DTE which is responsible for holding the counselling of JLEE 2019. The DTE also announces a waitlist. The cutoff of JLEE 2019 is separate for each branch and is announced for each round of counselling. Candidates whose marks and roll numbers are announced must thereafter attend the JLEE counselling 2019 on the specified date. The cutoff will be available in July 2019 when the DTE announces details of the same. Candidates can in the meantime use the 2018 cutoff details to garner a good idea of the marks required for admissions for each branch.

Mode of Counselling:
JLEE Counselling 2019 will be conducted by DTE, Assam. Counselling for JLEE is generally held in two rounds and in offline mode where candidates have to report to the specified venue as per the merit list printed in the notification. The merit list for the wait listed candidates will also be published as all candidates mentioned in the notification have to be present for document verification and other formalities in case they are allotted a seat. The steps to be followed are as follows
Registration: Candidates have to pay a non-refundable counselling fee of Rs 600 and register for the counselling process of JLEE 2019
Choice of Institute: They will have to choose the institute as per their preference
Verification of Documents: Candidates must take all the specified documents and get them verified before admissions
Seat Allotment: Once the above steps are completed, candidates will be allotted seats on the basis of their merit and choice of institute. They will be required to pay the admission fee and confirm their admission.
Second Round of JLEE 2019 Counselling: The second round of counselling will be held for all vacant seats after round one. DTE Assam will publish a merit list of all candidates who have qualified and are deemed eligible for admissions to attend the same. The steps to be followed are the same as mentioned above.
