History: PES was originally founded as a school in 1965 by Mr. M.R. Doreswamy for providing education to the underprivileged children. In 1988, it established its initial engineering college known as PESIT and in 2013 it attained the deemed university status.

In 1972, this institute evolved as a private state engineering college and known as People's Education Society University. This university is spread across 30 acres of land in Bangalore and backed by the 497 faculty members. The students intake for a four-year B.Tech program at PES University is 7,334 of which 62 per cent of the students are boys and 38 per cent of the students are girls. 38.4 percent of the students are from outside the Karnataka state and 58.7 per cent are from within Karnataka state. 214 students are admitted from all over the world.

PES University, Placement Statistics (As per NIRF Engineering, 2025)

For the batch 2023-2024, total 1669 students were admitted including lateral entry of which 1567 students completed their engineering degree and 239 students moved for higher studies.

Out of 1567 graduated students 1323 students got the placement. The placement rate is 99.60 per cent at a median salary of approximately Rs. 12.47 Lakhs. This indicates that the placement rate is exceptionally high, nearly close to 100 per cent and median salary is outperforming many IIITs, NITs & even some IITs.

As per the 2025 batch data, more than 350 companies participated in the placement drive at PESU. The highest salary offered was Rs. 68 LPA which is outstanding and over 1500 placement offers and more than 1250 internship offers were provided to the B.Tech students at PES University.

Admission Process & Seat Distribution

Out of total 100 per cent B.Tech seats, 40 per cent of the seats are allocated for the KCET and 45 per cent of the seats are reserved for the PESU JEE Main quota and 15 per cent is reserved for management quota.

• If the applicants register via JEE Main then their merit list for the engineering admission will be prepared based on the JEE Main score 2026.

• If the applicants register via KCET then their merit list for the engineering admission will be prepared based on the KCET score 2026.

• If the applicants register by selecting both the options JEE Mains and KCET then they can take admission through both the quota within the 45 per cent of the seats for B.Tech admission at PESU.
