Q. Congratulations Mr. Srajan! How do you feel about your achievement?
Ans: I feel very proud and happy. I am delighted with the test results.
Q. Your family must be very happy. How did they react when they first heard the news?
Ans: I was at home when the results were announced. It was my mother who saw the result on TV. They were showing my rank. We were both absolutely joyful that day.
Q. Please tell me what your score is in KCET 2026?
Ans: I got 177 out of 180.
Q. Wow! And how was your performance in class 12th?
Ans: My Class 12th marks were 598 out of 600.
Q. What was your preparation strategy?
Ans: I think it is consistency rather than long study hours is important. A fixed routine is not necessary. Focusing on weak areas and revision was my priority. I also maintained a dairy. Moreover, I revised topics after a weak.
Q. How many hours did you study daily?
Ans: I would study for three hours daily.
Q. Did you also take any other entrance exam?
Ans: Yes, I had cleared JEE Main and gave JEE Advanced exam as well.
Q. How did it fare?
Ans: It was good. I got 6,700 rank in JEE Main 2026.
Q. That’s very good! Then how was JEE Advanced attempt?
Ans: Oh! That was good too, I believe. My all-India rank is 4630. And EWS rank is 548.
Q. Since you have cleared 2 national-level exams and a state level exam with flying colors, what admission options are you looking for?
Ans: I am currently considering Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur or IIT Hyderabad.
Q. Do you still wish to pursue admission through KCET as well?
Ans: I am discussing with my parents about the choices available. My initial decision was to go for Computer Science. However, since October, I have developed an interest in Mechanical Engineering.
Q. Apart from studying, is there anything else that you liked to do?
Ans: I enjoy watching YouTube occasionally.
Q. What about the field of career? Is there any particular job that you are interested in?
Ans: Right now, I am interested in opportunities in railways, government sector jobs and mechanical engineering related careers.
Q. Lastly, what would you like to tell fellow students?
Ans: Do not lose confidence. There are always good opportunities ahead. Life doesn’t end with Class 12 results.

The authority releases the KCET spot ranks 2026 for candidates who complete the marks entry after the result declaration. This year, 3,09,014 candidates had appeared for the exam. Of these, 2,92,782 candidates have been allotted a rank based on their KCET and qualifying exam performance.
