KCET 2025 counselling will start on June 27, 2025.

Hello Aspirant,

No, KEA typically requires the most recent income certificate (usually from the current financial year) to claim reservation under the 2A category in KCET counselling. Generally, a 2024 income certificate from the last year of production will not be set aside, unless KEA specifically states it in the official notification document. It is advisable to maintain a valid certificate to avoid disqualification or rejection of your claim.

Hello aspirant,

The KCET 2025 online counseling will shortly be launched by the Karnataka Examinations Authority on its official website.  The KCET 2025 verification slip is currently available for download on the official website.  On May 24, the KCET 2025 results were revealed.  Candidates who meet the requirements can take part in KCET counseling.

Dear student,

The option entry process in KCET 2025 is a key part of the counselling round. Once you’ve completed your KCET exam and results are out, your first step is to attend document verification at the KEA help center. After verification, you’ll get a verification slip and a secret key — both are needed to log in for option entry.

To start filling your preferences, go to the official KEA website and use your CET number along with the secret key to log in. Once logged in, you can enter your preferred colleges and courses. There’s no limit to the number of options you can choose, so it’s better to list many to increase your chances. Make sure to arrange them based on your priority — the higher a course is on your list, the more likely you are to get it.

KEA will conduct a mock allotment round to show you which seat you might get based on your current choices. Use this chance to adjust your preferences — you can reorder, add, or remove options as needed.

Once you’re confident with your list, you must lock your final choices before the last date. After locking, no changes are allowed.

Finally, KEA will release the actual seat allotment results. If you get a seat, download the allotment letter, pay the admission fee, and report to the college within the given timeline.

A KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) rank of 2 lakh means you can target various engineering colleges, including some with good reputations and others that offer a wider range of specializations. While it might be challenging to get into the most sought-after colleges for popular branches like Computer Science with this rank, there are still good options available, especially in fields like Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering, as well as some Computer Science-related options in less competitive colleges.

With a KCET rank of 124000, it is very difficult to get admission in popular branches like ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) or ISE (Information Science Engineering) in top colleges located in South Bangalore through regular KCET counselling. Most good colleges in that region, such as RV College of Engineering, BMS College of Engineering, and PES University, usually close admissions for these branches within 10,000 to 50,000 ranks depending on the category.

At your rank, you might have a chance in lower-tier private colleges, but getting ECE or ISE specifically in South Bangalore is unlikely through government quota. You can consider:

  • Looking at colleges outside Bangalore city.
  • Choosing a different branch that has higher closing ranks.
  • Applying for management quota if affordable.

If you are unable to download your KCET verification slip from the usual official portal then here is what you can do The slip is available only on the Karnataka Examinations Authority site by logging in with your application number date of birth and name and there is no alternate website providing this document
If the site is not working because of heavy traffic then you should wait and try again after a few hours early morning or late evening when the portal is less busy
Make sure you use the exact details you entered during registration and avoid mistakes in your login information If you still cannot download the slip after trying multiple times then contact the KEA helpline or email support explaining the problem with screenshot of the webpage and your details Meanwhile confirm that your document verification was completed either online or offline so that your name will appear in the counselling list once the slip is available for download This is the only way to get the verification slip before option entry starts

With a KCET rank of 41,870 , your daughter has low chances for B.Tech Computer Science in top or mid-tier colleges. However, she has good chances to get related branches like:

  • Information Technology (IT)

  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)

  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE)

  • Biotechnology, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering

    Possible Colleges:

    • Don Bosco Institute of Technology (Bangalore)

    • RR College of Engineering

    • ATME College (Mysuru)

    • SJCIT (Chikkaballapur)

    • Reva University

    • KLE Tech, BMSIT (in other branches)

Document verification is mandatory in KCET counselling. If you did not verify your documents, your seat allotment will not be valid. You must visit the KEA website and check if there is a second or extended round of document verification. If available, book a slot immediately and visit the KEA centre with all required documents. If slots are not available, contact KEA support as soon as possible. Without verification, you cannot proceed with counselling or admission.

KCET 2025 option entry has not started yet Document verification slips were released on 23rd June. The option entry process is expected to start in the first week of july The official link will be available on the KEA website (cetonline.karnataka.gov.in). After that you can fill your preferred college and course choices
