KCET-2026: Clarification on PUC Exam Marks and Result

The authority, KEA, tweeted today to clarify and remove confusion for students. Below are the statements published for the candidates giving the KCET 2026:

• The authority stated that the higher marks between Exam-1 and Exam-2 will be considered for the CET result for science students of 2nd PUC
• Candidates should know that the like last year, best marks from both exam-1 and exam-2 will be used for CET rank calculation.

• The CET result will be announced only after the results of both 2nd PUC exams are declared.

Steps to Check KCET 2026 Result

The authority will announce the KCET results 2026 link on the official website, kea.kar.nic.in results. Candidates can check their KCET results 2026 only in online mode through the result portal. Moreover, candidates will have to compulsorily enter the subject marks of all the 2nd PUC/ 12th STD ,including the total marks. The following steps can be referred to check the result of KCET 2026.

How is KCET Rank Calculated?

KEA will calculate the KCET 2026 rank based on marks obtained by candidates in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics subjects in KCET 2026 and the marks obtained by candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in the Qualifying Examination, taken in equal proportions.

KEA KCET Passing Marks 2026

As per the KCET brochure, the minimum passing marks for all Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates shall be 12 out of 50 marks in the Kannada Language Examination conducted by KEA to be considered for assignment of ranks and to become eligible for allotment of seats in CET. (The Kannada Language Test paper will be of 4th Standard Level).

Previous Year KCET Result Highlights

• As per KCET result analysis, more girls appeared for the Karnataka CET exam as compared to boys. Several girls and boys appeared at 1,29,780 and 1,14,565 respectively.
• The total number of candidates who appeared only for PCM was 43,316, while for only PCB, 3,917 students took the KCET test. However, the number of candidates who appeared for both (PCM and PCB) were 1,96,112.
• Around 2,03,381 students appeared for the KCET engineering exam.
• In 2023, Bengaluru's Vignesh Nataraj Kumar has topped the KCET exam with 97.8%.
