Hello Aspirant,
In case you have not been assigned a seat in the first round of KCET counselling and have joined another college but are now thinking of leaving that college, you should still be able to participate in the next round of KCET. You will not have to do anything to withdraw from KCET counselling, and can also wait for the next round(whenever that is). However, to leave the college you have joined, however, you will need to follow that college's withdrawal procedure (which will generally be that you have to submit a formal application, and pay a fee, if any). Make sure you go through that college's refund policy before you withdraw.

Hello Aspirant,
Yes, a General Merit (GM) student should think about attending the 2nd extended round of KCET counselling. Although the seat matrix may reflect "No GM seats" initially, there may still be openings due to withdrawals, non-reporting by allotted candidates, or upgrades from earlier rounds. All vacated seats were renewed, not currently being used by candidates, and some of these openings can be again filled under GM category. Many students have gained good seats in this round by attending 2nd extended counselling, although the first matrix indicated "zero".
Yes, you can be eligible for the KCET exam even if you studied your 11th and 12th (Intermediate) in Andhra Pradesh, provided you meet certain domicile/residency criteria of Karnataka.
Since you completed your schooling up to 10th standard in Karnataka and are a Karnataka domicile, you may be eligible under Clause (a) or (b) of KCET eligibility. These clauses usually include:
You must have studied in Karnataka for at least 7 years including 10th.
Or one of your parents must have studied in Karnataka for at least 7 years.
Or your mother/father must be a Karnataka state government employee.
You will likely need to submit a domicile certificate or study certificate from Karnataka to support your claim.
When you get a college first allotment, you normally get about 5 to 7 days to confirm your admission and report to the college. Specific timeline varies with the counseling authority or rules of the universities, and therefore it is advisable to read the official allotment notice very well.
In case you are late, there are chances of having your seat cancelled and you may not even attend the subsequent rounds. Therefore, do not take too much time to complete the process and always visit the official website to get registered.
Hello!
M S Ramaiah University , Bangalore, is one of the reputed private universities in Karnataka. For admission through KCET the cutoff ranks change every year.It depends upon the category, number of seats and number of students applied.
Last year for branches like Computer science and Engineering the cutt off was between 10,000-15000 for General category students and branches like mechanical, civil or ECE their cutt off was between 20,000-40,000.For categories like SC,ST or OBC the cutt offs go much higher.
In case a student gets a seat on the second round KCET counseling And if you not paid the required fee as per the time limit then the seat will be automatically cancelled. Then the seat will be termed as vacant and can be given it to other deserving candidates in the second turn or the open ended turn.
When this happens the student is not usually given the chance to take up the seat again. But in case additional rounds of counseling (such as extended second less competitive round or casual vacancy round are added, the students can enter again only the permission of KEA (Karnataka Examination Authority) to enter or re enter some certain conditions.
One should regularly visit the official KCET site in order to receive any announcement. Failure to pay the fee by deadline is considered as refusal to occupy the allocated seat
In this case you should make an attempt to call KEA helpdesk to find out whether there is any alternative solutions to you. good luck!
KCET counselling is conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) to allot seats in engineering, pharmacy, agriculture, veterinary, and other professional courses .
The counselling process is mostly online , but some steps are offline . It is a hybrid process .
Document Verification:
This is the only major offline step .
After KCET results, candidates must visit the KEA help centres with all original documents like KCET admit card, rank card, Class 10 & 12 mark sheets, caste/income certificates (if applicable), and study certificates.
Officials check your documents and give a verification slip and login credentials for online counselling.
Reporting to College:
After you get a seat and pay the fee, you must physically report to the allotted college with original documents to confirm admission.
Choice Filling (Option Entry):
After document verification, candidates log in to the KEA online portal to select colleges and courses in order of preference.
Seat Allotment:
Mock allotment and final allotment results are published online.
Candidates select options (accept/reject/continue) online.
Fee Payment and Admission Order:
Once a seat is accepted, you pay the admission fee online and download the admission order .
Offline: Document verification & final college reporting.
Online: Choice filling, seat allotment, option selection, and fee payment.
So, KCET counselling is mostly online with some offline steps
With a practical rank of 14,300 in KCET and your category being 2A OBC + 371J, you do have a fair chance of getting a BSc Agriculture seat in Karnataka under the reserved quota.
Here’s a practical breakdown:
In previous years, students with ranks around 12,000 to 16,000 in practical rank (with reservation) have secured BSc Agri seats in government and government-aided colleges.
The 2A and 371J reservation works strongly in your favor, especially in Hyderabad-Karnataka region colleges (now Kalyana Karnataka).
Seat availability and college preference matter—popular colleges fill fast, but you have a decent chance in regional universities or newer agri colleges.
Your chances are good, especially in:
Colleges located in Bidar, Raichur, or other north Karnataka regions.
Seats under University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur or Dharwad.
