ITI Rules 2025: Industrial Training Institutes release some rules and regulations for trainees. These ITI rules include trainee rules, admissions, fees, attendance, leave, dress, and conduct. List of the General ITI Rules and Regulations

Candidates going to ITIs must follow these rules and regulations to complete their training:

  • Uniform: Trainees are informed to get two sets of the prescribed uniform within a week of admission. It is necessary to wear the uniform daily from their residence to the institute.

  • Working Shifts: As decided by the upper management, Monday to Friday is the fixed schedule for trainees. Trainees are required to work for 40hours per week of training as per the decided norms.

  • Holidays: Trainees are eligible to get the same number of holidays as employees. This list of holidays is decided by the state government of that ITI.

  • Casual Leaves: Trainees are entitled to a total of 8 days per year. However, a trainee can take up to 6 days leave at a time as approved by the upper management.

  • Medical Leaves: A trainee can take up to 15 days of medical leave as per the medical document provided by them. However, the medical leave should not exceed 3 weeks in a year and 6 weeks for the two years of the training period.

  • Special Leave: Trainees are entitled to get 10 days of special leave for their private affairs. Hence, the head of the institute must be satisfied with the reason.

  • Unauthorised Absence: If a trainee is not present for 10 consecutive days without notice, then a written notice is issued. If the problem continues, he/she will be discharged from the roles.

  • Suspensions: Trainees can get suspended due to any disciplinary act, attendance lower than 50%, and pending investigations against him/her.

  • Exam Eligibility: Trainees completing minimum essential attendance are only allowed to attend the exam. Others are exempted from the exam.

  • Scholarships: Trainees get diverse scholarships from the national and state governments. They need to register themselves to attain it. Students also get a merit-based scholarship based on the marks obtained in the qualifying exams.
