RanjeetaUpdated on 04 Feb 2026, 05:04 PM IST

68 Marks in JEE Mains Percentile 2026: Students participating in the JEE Main 2026 exam must know about the JEE marks and percentile to determine their rank and admission chances. The 68 mark in JEE Mains percentile is likely to be around the 86 percentile. However, the exact JEE percentile is calculated based on the total number of students in the exam, the difficulty level of the exam, and the overall performance distribution of candidates. 68 marks in JEE Main 2026 percentile is considered to be average and not enough for admission in IITs, top-tier NITs or IIITs, where cutoffs are usually much higher.

What Should Students Do After Scoring 68 Marks In JEE Main 2026?

Stuenst, with 68 marks in JEE Main, must look for other options, such as private college options, alternative exams, and counselling rounds. Since 68 marks are equivalent to 75 to 88 per cent, which is not enough to get admission in top IITs, NITS, or IIITs, especially for the general category students. Candidates can opt for the options provided below.

Private Institute: Candidates can secure admission in multiple engineering colleges, including SRM, UPES, LPU, Amity, etc. The private colleges accept 68 marks in JEE Main for most of their BTech branches.

State-level exam and Institute-level exams: Candidates with 68 marks can also opt for the alternative exam, which includes State-level exams: MHT CET, WBJEE, KCET, TS EAMCET, etc., or they can apply for the institute-level engineering exam, such as SRMJEE, BITSAT, VITEEE, MET, etc.

Counselling: 68 marks are not enough for the top NITs or IIITs. However, candidates can participate in state-level BTech counselling to check their chances of admission in other colleges accepting a low JEE cutoff score.

BTech Entrance Exams alternative to JEE Mains
