    WBJEE 2026 TFW - The West Bengal government offers a tuition fee waiver scheme to meritorious students from economically challenged sections. WBJEE TFW 2026 stands for the tuition fee waiver scheme. The WBJEE 2026 TFW scheme waives the tuition fees for deserving candidates who fulfil the TFW eligibility criteria. Qualified candidates of the WBJEE exam with good scores who come from economically weaker sections can access the benefits of the TFW scheme. Moreover, 5% of seats in engineering, technology, architecture, and pharmacy colleges are reserved for all such students. The selection under the TFW scheme is primarily based on merit, ensuring that only deserving candidates get the opportunity.

    WBJEE TFW Scheme 2026

    The TFW initiative launched by the West Bengal government aims to make quality higher education accessible to all, regardless of financial constraints. Students who wish to pursue higher education through the WBJEE 2026 exam but are unable to do so due to financial hardships can reap the benefits of the WBJEE TFW scheme. To do so, they must meet the eligibility conditions. The main criteria for eligibility for the TFW scheme are:

    • Parental Income: The annual family income of the student should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs.

    • Domicile Requirement: The student must be a resident of West Bengal.

    • WBJEE Rank: The student must secure a good TFW rank as well as a good GMR rank (General merit rank).

    TFW Application process

    Candidates who seek admission through the TFW quota must know the registration process. The step-by-step registration process for the WBJEE TFW scheme is provided below.

    • While filling out the WBJEE 2026 application form, candidates must ensure they opt for the TFW scheme. Within the application form, a section specifically asks whether the candidate wants to apply for the TFW scheme. Candidates must select ‘Yes’ to proceed with the TFW application.

    • Before the WBJEE counselling begins, candidates need to ensure they have the necessary documents to prove their eligibility for the TFW scheme. The list of documents includes an income certificate, domicile certificate and the WBJEE rank card.

    • Candidates must participate in the counselling process and select their preference for the desired course and institute.

    • After thorough verification of documents, students will be allotted seats.

    • Candidates who secure a seat under the TFW scheme will receive a provisional allotment letter indicating allotment under the TFW category, waiving the tuition fees.

    • Students then have to report to the allotted institute along with the provisional allotment letter to complete the admission formalities and pay the remaining fees.

    Documents required for the TFW scheme

    Candidates looking for admission through the TFW scheme are required to submit a few mandatory documents. Failure to submit valid documents will result in disqualification from the TFW scheme. Aspirants have to submit the following documents-

    • Income certificate

    • Domicile certificate

    • All relevant certificates issued by the competent authorities

    Note- Income certificates issued by any elected people’s representative such as Municipal Commissioner, Councillor of Municipal Corporation/Municipality, Member of a three-tier Panchayat system or GTA, MLA or MP are not acceptable.

    WBJEE 2026 TFW Scheme Highlights

    • The Government of West Bengal has implemented the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFW) for meritorious and economically backward students.

    • The student must be domiciled in West Bengal to avail the benefits of the scheme.

    • The total annual family income of the candidate from all sources must be less than Rs. 2.50 lakhs.

    • The waiver is limited to the Tuition Fee only. All other fees will have to be paid by the student.

    A non-local student does not get full fee reimbursement through MHT-CET or WBJEE. Full fee reimbursement is usually given only to students who belong to the home state and satisfy the state-specific eligibility rules. In MHT-CET, only Maharashtra domicile candidates under valid categories are eligible for government fee reimbursement.

    Hi dear candidate,

    WBJEE, NIPER, JEE and GATE all are entrance exams for higher studies.

    WBJEE is engineering entrance exam for West Bengal colleges.

    NIPER is a PG program for admission in pharmacy masters or PhD programs.

    JEE is all over India entrance exam for engineering.

    You cannot get admission later through WBJEE counselling for that year if you missed the decentralized counselling as it is the official last chance to get admission through WBJEE.

    Only chance left is by management quota but the fees are very high.
