In India, engineering is a very popular and competitive stream of study. Right from the extremely demanding JEE Coaching, to campus placements post completion of their BTech or BE degree, the whole duration of entrance exam, admissions and seat allotment and then the job is all very complex and competitive.
However, if you have set your eye on the prize and are motivated to get the best qualification and score a good job opportunity, you must know which is the best college for your engineering qualification. For this very reason, Careers360 undertakes various studies to deconstruct the complex and vast data and present it in a simplified informative article.
In this article, Careers360 has analysed and discussed nine states which NIRF ranked as having the maximum number of engineering colleges. These states also feature as having the highest number of “ranked” colleges. Let us try to understand how each of these nine states fared in terms of graduates who accepted placements and those who went for further studies.
NIRF, which conducts annual ranking for educational institutions across India, in 2023 ranked a total of 100 engineering institutes.
Out of these 100, 15 engineering colleges, the highest number are from Tamil Nadu (TN), Karnataka, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh has seven colleges each, next in line are Punjab and Telangana with six colleges each and finally with five colleges each in Maharashtra, Odisha and Rajasthan.
