For JEE Main registration, your EWS certificate must be issued before the registration deadline.
Ideally, the certificate should be dated after April 1 of the current academic year .
NTA usually mentions the required issue date in the official JEE information bulletin. If your EWS certificate is delayed, you can upload an EWS undertaking temporarily. But you must produce a valid certificate during counseling (JoSAA), or your claim won’t be accepted.
Always get it made from your local Tehsildar/SDO office well in advance to avoid last-minute issues.
In Malda district, West Bengal, the JEE Main 2025 exam centre code is WB20. Candidates from the district can choose Malda as their preferred exam centre during registration.
