Hello,

Here is the eligibility criteria of JEE mains and JEE advanced :-

  • Qualification: Must have passed Class 12 or equivalent in the relevant year or the previous year.
  • Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are mandatory.
  • Age Limit: No age limit for JEE Main.
  • Attempts: Maximum of three consecutive years.

JEE Advanced Eligibility :-

  • JEE Main Performance: Be among the top 2,50,000 rank holders.
  • Attempts: Maximum of two consecutive attempts.
  • Age Limit: Born on or after October 1, 1999 (relaxation for reserved categories).
  • Education: Must have passed Class 12 in the current or previous year.
  • Institutional Rule: Not previously admitted to IITs.

Hope it helps !

Hello Sachin,

To secure a rank under 200 in the OBC category for JEE Advanced , the required marks can vary depending on the difficulty of the exam, the performance of candidates in that particular year, and the normalization process. However, as a general guideline:

  • In previous years, to get a rank under 200 in the OBC category, you would typically need to score around 230-250 marks (out of 360) in JEE Advanced .

  • Keep in mind that the exact cutoff can fluctuate each year, so focusing on consistently improving your preparation and aiming for a high score is essential.

Additionally, the cutoff for JEE Advanced depends on factors like the overall difficulty level of the exam and the number of candidates appearing, so it's always a good idea to refer to the official cutoff trends once the exam is conducted.

For more details about the cutoff of JEE Advanced Click Here .

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Hello,

No, your first attempt will be counted when you will appear for JEE exam first time, it doesn't depend on you r 12th passing year .

  • JEE Advanced eligibility is based on class 12th performance and number of attempts, not solely on the academic year.
  • A candidate who failed in 2022-23 but passed in 2023-24 will be eligible for JEE Advanced 2024 if they meet other criteria (age, JEE Main score, etc.).
  • JEE Advanced counts attempts starting from the first successful JEE Main appearance. If they cleared JEE Main in 2023 and appeared for JEE Advanced 2023 but failed the class 12th exam, that still counts as their first attempt.
  • Their first attempt in JEE Advanced is linked to the first successful appearance in JEE Main.

Hope it helps !
