Haryana B.Tech Counselling and Seat Allotment 2018 –  For vacant seats left after two rounds, institute-level counselling is being conducted after merging the sub-categories with their parent categories. Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) conducted Haryana B.Tech 2018 counselling in online mode from June 25, 2018. However, the payment of counselling fee has already commenced. Haryana B.Tech counselling 2018 was conducted in two rounds. To participate in Haryana B.Tech 2018 counselling, the candidate had to pay counselling fee, and exercise choice filling and locking. Allotment of seats for General and TFW candidates will be based on JEE Main rank, while inter-se merit of qualifying exam will be considered for KM and HGST candidates. When filling choices, it should be in the order of preference. Haryana B.Tech aspirants who have been offered seats will be sent provisional allotment letters, which has to be downloaded by logging in using one’s roll number and password. Haryana B.Tech 2018 Counselling and Seat Allotment – Key Features

  • The counselling of Haryana B.Tech 2018 will be held online

  • Counselling of Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) candidates will be conducted side-by-side with general counselling

  • There will be minimum two rounds of counselling; if there are vacant seats left, additional rounds may be held.

  • To participate in Round I of counselling, candidate needs to pay counselling fee and get registered. For subsequent rounds, there is no need to register or pay the fee again.

  • Candidates who have been allotted seats will be sent Provisional Allotment Letters, which has to be downloaded

Haryana B.Tech 2018 Counselling and Seat Allotment Procedure

To participate in online Haryana B.Tech counselling and seat allotment 2018, the candidate has to pay counselling fee, get registered, and exercise choice filling and locking. Meanwhile, seat allotment will be based on the inter-se merit. There will be two or more rounds of Haryana B.Tech 2018 counselling. Check the counselling process for each round below.


Haryana B.Tech Counselling and Seat Allotment – Round I


Step 1 – Payment of Counselling Fee


The candidate has to first pay the counselling fee by clicking on the “Payment Registration” link. Using the link given above, the candidate will be able to generate the e-challan or make the payment online.

If the candidate doesn’t pay the fee, his allotted seat may be cancelled at any stage of the Haryana B.Tech 2018 admission process.


Counselling Fee:  The counselling fee of Rs. 500 (non-refundable) can be paid online through credit card, debit card, or netbanking.

An alternative way is to take print out of the e-challan and deposit counselling fee on the next day of e-challan generation in a designated bank (AXIS or PNB). The candidate needs to collect the duly stamped receipt from the bank.


Step 2 – Registration

  • To start the registration process, click on “New Registration”

  • Submit details like – name, course, roll number, application number, date of birth, ( as per JEE Main 2018/NATA 2018 Admit Card or details provided by HSTES)

  • Upon entering above details, you will be redirected to the registration page where details like – gender, category, sub-category, education qualification, aggregate percentage of marks, name of school/college, mobile number, email id, etc. have to be entered. You will also be asked to enter Aadhaar card details.

  • Submit the registration form

Upon successful registration, the “Registration Confirmation” page will appear displaying the registration details entered by the candidate. Any of the entered details can be edited by using the “Edit registration details” option. Otherwise, the candidate may choose “Click here to continue” option, after which no changes will be allowed.


Step 3 – Filling and Locking of Choices

The choices must be entered in the order of priority and lock them before the last date. In case the candidate doesn’t lock the choices, the system will automatically lock the last filled choices once choice filling deadline ends. To maximize chances of getting a seat, it is advisable to enter as many choices as possible.

Step 4 – Allotment of Seats

Candidates can check the status of Haryana B.Tech 2018 seat allotment by:

  • Logging into counselling website using roll number and password.

  • Next, click on Provisional Seat Allotment result option

  • If the candidate has been offered a seat, provisional allotment letter would be sent to the candidate.

  • The provisional allotment letter would contain details like – institute and branch offered, allotted status and reporting schedule

The candidate needs to take a printout of the Provisional Allotment letter and attend the allotted institute in person within the given schedule, along with photocopies and originals of all relevant documents.


Payment of 1st semester fee

At the time of reporting, the candidate has to deposit one semester fee at the allotted institute, failing which the candidate shall not be allowed to report in the allotted institute. The deposition of this admission fee will entail the candidate


Second and Subsequent Rounds of Counselling

To participate in Round II and any subsequent rounds of Haryana B.Tech counselling and seat allotment, the candidate doesn’t have to pay the counselling fee or register again. Steps to participate in Round II and subsequents rounds are given below:


Step 1 – Filling and locking of Choices

The candidate has to enter choices once again, in the order of priority, and lock the choices.


Step 2 – Allotment of Seat

In case a candidate is allotted a seat in Round II or subsequent rounds, the earlier allotted/reported will become null and void, and the candidate has to report again in the last allotted institute.


What after Haryana B.Tech counselling

Candidates who have been offered a seat during Haryana B.Tech 2018 counselling and seat allotment have to:

  • Take printout of the system generated provisional allotment letter

  • Report at the allotted institute for document verification and payment of semester fee. The candidate must submit 3 sets of duly attested copies at time of admission, along with originals.

  • After successful admission, the candidate will be issued system generated admission slip.

Documents to be submitted at time of reporting at allotted institute

The candidate must bring along originals and 3 set of duly attested photocopies of the below mentioned documents:

  • Certificate of Qualifying Exam

  • High School Certificate

  • Score Card and Admit Card JEE Main 2018 ( NATA 2018 score and admit cards by those opting for B.Arch course)

  • Character Certificate

  • Resident Certificate ( if applicable)

  • Caste Certificate ( if admission is sought under reserved category)

  • Aadhaar Number ( or Enrollment number if Aadhaar is not available)

  • Proof of annual income ( by TFW, BC, and EBP candidates)

  • Antiragging undertaking separately by the candidate and guardian

  • Colored photograph and signature
