How JEE Mains Percentile Calculated?

JEE Mains Percentile is not the percentage of total marks of the JEE Mains Examination, but it is calculated using a normalization process. If you got 152 marks in the JEE Mains examination, then your percentile will be calculated as the total number of students who got the same or fewer marks than yours, 152 marks in JEE Mains, divided by the total number of students in your session, multiplied by 100.

Term

Meaning

Raw Score

Marks you got out of the total 300 marks in JEE Mains

Session

The session you attended for JEE Mains

Total Candidates in Session

Total number of students who appeared in your session.

Students Scoring ≤ Your Marks

Number of students who got marks less than or equal to yours.

Percentile Formula

(Students scoring ≤ your marks ÷ Total candidates in session) × 100

Example

If 97,500 out of 100,000 scored ≤ you → Percentile = (97,500/100,000) × 100 = 97.5

Final Percentile Used

Best overall percentile from all your attempts (if you have multiple).

Used for Rank Calculation?

Hello,
If the ten years question paper file is not opening, it may be due to file corruption, unsupported format or incomplete download. Try downloading the file again and make sure the download completes fully. Check if your device has an updated PDF reader or file viewer. If the file still does not open, try using another device to check whether the file is working. If none of these methods help, you should request a fresh copy of the question paper file.
Hope this helps you.
