Hello,
Yes, you can get admission in DTU and IIIT Hyderabad with an outstanding JEE Main rank, as long as you pass Class 12 with at least 60% marks in PCM.
Welcome to the world of self isolation! With the recent turn of events due to the outbreak of COVID-19 or Coronavirus, the entire nation is urged to keep themselves under self isolation in order to lessen the spread of the virus. While many are under stress due to the isolation, there are many who can use this period of time for self-improvement and better things. Students, especially, can use this time to revive their preparation for the various entrance examinations postponed. JEE Main 2020 (April session) is one of the major engineering entrance examinations which has been postponed by the authorities. With more days in hand for preparation, how can the students rightly use this self isolation for JEE Main preparation?
The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela students received 1,274 job offers and secured the highest salary of Rs 62.44 lakh in the 2025 placements. The average salary package for BTech stood at Rs 14.10 lakh. 373 recruiters participated in the placement drive, representing software and IT services, manufacturing, BFSI, electronics, and education sectors. The institute will admit students in the 2026-27 session through JEE Mains 2026.

For the next few weeks, everyone is asked to stop venturing out and this in turn provides ample time to students for a “no-distraction study”. Let us look at a few preparation tips for JEE Main 2020 during self isolation.
Re-create your Schedule - Since the students have a lot of time in their hands now, a new schedule can be prepared to adjust studies into the free hours now available. While preparing the schedule, the candidates are advised to switch up the subjects to study. This will allow the studies to be less monotonous and will surely help boost the preparation for the examination. Since the isolation period is till March 31, 2020 for now, candidates can also check JEE Main 2020 timetable during COVID- 19 self isolation.
Indulge in Online Learning - Dropping by the coaching centres is not possible now due to self isolation. Therefore, another alternative is to opt for online learning classes. Students can check the online classes of their coaching centres or also search for information on Youtube. These content will ensure that the students stay updated with their preparation for JEE Main 2020 (April session).

Practice Mock Tests - Students are advised to use the JEE Main mock tests in order to practice what they have studied. This will also allow the students to have a clearer idea about the areas which they need to work on. Since the mock tests are a replica of the entrance examination, the candidates can use it to understand the exam pattern of JEE Main 2020. Along with the mock tests, the candidates can also solve the sample papers of JEE Main 2020.
Revision is Important: Since the postponement of JEE Main 2020 was a last minute announcement, most of the students must have been prepared for the examination. Therefore, the focus should be on revision. There are many advantages of revision. Students will be able to go through whatever they have studied earlier through revision and keep it fresh in their mind.
Health is Wealth - The most important thing during this time is to keep the health at its best. The students are advised to get enough sleep and eat in a healthy manner. Refrain from going out and make the best use of time during self isolation. To freshen the mind, the students can also indulge in recreational activities indoors between studies. Remember that if your health is not top notch then your exam will also be the same.
Stay safe and all the best!

Heya,
Yes, you can refill your category again. In the case of the April session JEE Main registration, you have the option to change your category while registering your details only once. You can switch from General to EWS if you have a proper certificate. Just be certain that the EWS certificate is granted before the last date of the April session form and complies with the NTA's requirements of validity.
Hope it helps!!!
Hello,
Yes, you can get admission in DTU and IIIT Hyderabad with an outstanding JEE Main rank, as long as you pass Class 12 with at least 60% marks in PCM.
if we talk about DTU (Delhi Technological University) — you must have at least 60% in PCM and pass all subjects. The 75% rule is not strictly applicable here, so you can get admission based on your JEE Main rank and Delhi quota, if applicable.
For IIIT Hyderabad, admission is based on JEE Main percentile/rank, but the institute also requires a minimum of 60% in Class 12 (PCM). So, even with less than 75%, you are eligible if you meet this 60% requirement.
Hope you understand. ALL THE BEST.
Hello Tanishka,
Although i believe your attempting strategy and sequence depends entirely on your stage of preparation and your personal progress, i would suggest you sit for your January attempt even if you aim to seriously prepare for April.
Whatever stage of syllabus completion you are at, i suggest you give it a try to get an estimate of the exam difficulty and see roughly where you stand among the applicants that year. No matter how many mock tests you attempt, the actual examination environment happens to be very different from mock tests. The first attempt is going to give you an idea of the exam environment so you can prepare for your April attempt better.
All the best for your exams!
Hello Swati
Yes, your EWS certificate will be valid for JEE Main 2026 and counselling if it’s issued after April 1, 2025.
This is because EWS certificates are valid for one financial year from April to March.
So, a certificate made in October 2025 will be for FY 2025–26, which covers both JEE and counselling. You’ll need the certificate number during JEE registration in October 2025.
Even if you don’t have it yet, you can still register and upload it later during counselling. Just make sure the certificate clearly mentions the correct financial year.
Always keep a few extra copies and the original ready for verification.
You're good to go if it’s issued after April 1, 2025
