JEE Advanced 2025 Attempt Limit Supreme Court hearing - The Supreme Court has announced its verdict on the plea regarding the attempt limit in JEE Advanced 2025 exam. A bench of Justices B R Gavai and Augustine George Masih decided that students who dropped out between November 5 and November 18, 2024 are eligible for the third attempt in JEE Advanced 2025. For all others, the JEE Advanced 2025 attempt limit remains unchanged. The JEE Advanced exam has been under scrutiny this year for its attempt limits. On November 5, the Joint Admission Board (JAB) announced the revised JEE Advanced eligibility criteria. Under this, students were allowed to appear for the JEE Advanced 2025 exam three times in three consecutive years. This came as a relief to many students since the JEE Mains exam also has a similar attempt limit criterion. However, on November 18, the authority retracted this decision and announced two limits only. This caused an uproar among the students who had made decisions based on the previous announcement.
Soon after the initial notification on November 5, many IIT JEE aspirants withdrew their admissions to give another chance to the JEE Advanced exam. This decision has affected the academic plans of many students. In this regard, a group of 22 students have challenged the JAB’s decision to reduce the number of attempts and demand the restoration of the old notification.
