Amity University-Noida B.Tech Admissions 2026
Among top 100 Universities Globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2026
The past few days have been quite eventful for students all over India. With the entry of COVID-19 or simply known as Coronavirus, the country (along with the rest of the world) has been thrown into a state of panic with the rising number of casualties. While India is currently situated in the initial stages of the pandemic, the government is trying their best to handle the situation and nip it in the bud. Since self isolation is the key to putting a hold to this virus, the government has directed all examinations to be postponed.
The current timeline in India is the season for entrance examinations and unfortunately, a number of exams and students will be suffering due to COVID-19. JEE Main 2020 (April session), which is the most important engineering entrance exam has also been announced as postponed by the National Testing Agency. The new exam dates are scheduled to be declared after March 31, 2020 and the admit card of JEE Main 2020 will also be released after this date. However, how can the future of the COVID-19 actually be assessed right now? How can people be so sure that there will be no risk in attending the exam centres later in the year since mass gathering in such situations will be unavoidable.
This just raises an essential question of whether an option of JEE Main 2020 being held as an online test given from home due to COVID 19 be considered or not? While there are less chances of the authorities allowing candidates to attempt the examination from home, it might turn out to be a possibility given the current situation. NTA is quite skilled and experienced in conducting computer based tests and this might help them to pull off this arrangement. However, it is too early to speculate whether NTA will actually consider this option while preparing for the worst case scenarios.By considering this option, many challenges will be faced by NTA but we should keep all doors open in case the situation is still bleak at that point.
Considering the fact that the JEE Main is a computer based test, if this option is introduced by the authorities then it has to be conducted as an online test. Even if a particular question is allotted a specific number of time period, this will not erase the chances of cheating since there will be no supervision at the home of the candidates. Another challenge will be faced by JEE Main 2020 Paper 2 (B.Arch) candidates. The drawing section of this exam is to be held in pen and paper based mode. So, how will this actually be pulled off by the authorities?
As of now, the only thing we can do is to sit back and wait for the official notification of NTA regarding JEE Main 2020. Given the current situation, the officials are likely to be brainstorming about the various ways in which the students suffer less and the examination is held smoothly. Till then, the applicants should make the best use of self-isolation and study hard for the upcoming exam. All the best!

Hello
Yes, it creates a problem if you're 12th LC(state OBC) and JEE(Central OBC/EWS) categories differ.
JoSAA requires a central OBC-NCL certificate for OBC reservation; since Karnataka OBC isn't central, you will be treated as general, or you can use a Declaration for OBC-to-General conversions from during counseling, but switching to EWS needs you to have applied as EWS initially. Your EWS certificate works if you meet the income criteria, but yes the important thing is Central OBC list for OBC, not state list.
Hope it helps you, in case of any doubts you can directly drop your query or you can visit to Careers360.com

Eligible years for you were 2024 and 2025
You already appeared in 2025
2026 is not allowed
Your health issue does not change this rule.
