    WBJEE 2026 will be conducted as a pen-and-paper-based test. The examination will be held for a total duration of 4 hours, divided into 2 hours for Paper 1 (Mathematics) and 2 hours for Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry combined). Candidates needed to answer 155 multiple-choice questions in total.     Category 1 - Each correct answer will be awarded one mark.

    Category 2 and 3 - For every correct response, two marks will be given by the candidates.

    Category 2 - For each incorrect answer, ½ mark will be deducted.

    Category 3 - There is no negative marking.

    WBJEE 2026 Exam Pattern - Highlights

    • WBJEE exam will be conducted in offline mode, as an OMR-based.

    • Each WBJEE paper will be of 2-hour duration.

    • The questions in the WBJEE 2026 exam paper will be divided into three categories, and the marking scheme for each category differed.

    • PwD candidates are eligible to avail an extra 20 minutes in each paper, for which they had to sit for the examination in the Board’s office in Kolkata.

    • Visually impaired PwD candidates are allowed to use a scribe or a writer having lower academic qualifications than the candidate.

    Students will be provided an OMR sheet to mark their responses. It is important to practice making answers on the WBJEE OMR sheet. Below are few instructions regarding the WBJEE OMR.

    • The question is to be answered in the optical readable response (OMR Sheet)
    • To mark the answer, dark the appropriate circle completely with a blue or black ball pen

    A non-local student does not get full fee reimbursement through MHT-CET or WBJEE. Full fee reimbursement is usually given only to students who belong to the home state and satisfy the state-specific eligibility rules. In MHT-CET, only Maharashtra domicile candidates under valid categories are eligible for government fee reimbursement.

    WBJEE, NIPER, JEE and GATE all are entrance exams for higher studies.

    WBJEE is engineering entrance exam for West Bengal colleges.

    NIPER is a PG program for admission in pharmacy masters or PhD programs.

    Only chance left is by management quota but the fees are very high.
