Candidates who wish to take admission in B.Tech courses through lateral entry tests must fulfill the following eligibility criteria. Although the BTech lateral entry eligibility varies exam-wise, students can check certain general conditions below.
Candidates must have passed a Diploma in relevant field with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved category).
OR
Candidates must have passed B.Sc with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved category) and class 12th with Mathematics as compulsory subject.
Candidates will also have to satisfy other eligibility conditions like age, domicile as per the exam chosen by them.
AP ECET- Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University (JNTU) Anantapur conducts AP ECET exam for admission to second year (3rd semester) of four-year degree courses in B.E and B.Tech courses and B.pharmacy (except architecture) in Unaided Private Professional institutions (Minority & non-Minority) of Andhra Pradesh.AP ECET has 200 multiple choice questions spread over four sections- Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering Subject.
TS ECET- JNTU Hyderabad conducts TS ECET exam for lateral engineering entrance into 2nd year regular B.E. / B.Tech. courses in both the University and Unaided Private Professional Institutions in Telangana. TS ECET is an online exam of 3 hours and has 200 multiple choice questions spread over four sections- Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering Stream. It must be noted that candidates have to score 25% of the aggregate marks in the four subjects [Three subjects for B.Sc. (Mathematics)], i.e., 50 marks out of a total of 200 in order to obtain a rank in TS ECET. There is no minimum marks for SC/ST candidates.
UPSEE Lateral Entry- Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh conducts UPSEE lateral engineering entrance test for admission to second-year degree engineering courses in Uttar Pradesh. UPSEE Lateral entry exam is an offline test of 2 hours and has 100 multiple choice questions.
