The authority has begun the UPTAC 2025 round 1 counselling from August 1, 2025, onwards. Furthermore, the round 1 online choice filling and locking is scheduled from August 12 to 16, 2025. Candidates willing to get direct admission in the 2nd year of B.E./BTech courses via the UPTAC counselling process must have appeared for the CUET UG 2025 exam.

UPTAC Lateral Entry 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates seeking admission to the 2nd year of the engineering degree course should ensure that they meet the UPTAC Lateral Entry eligibility criteria prescribed by the authorities. Candidates failing to meet any criteria will not be eligible for final admission. The detailed eligibility criteria of the UPTAC Lateral Entry 2025 are mentioned below
Candidates should have qualified the 3-year engineering diploma course from a recognised institute in Uttar Pradesh or candidates whose parents are domiciled in U.P. will be eligible to apply.
Candidates should have passed the diploma engineering course with at least 45% aggregate marks. For candidates belonging to the SC/ST category, the minimum required aggregate marks are 40%.
Candidates should have passed a year's B.Sc. degree and class 12th with Mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects.
Candidates who are appearing for their final semester exam are also eligible to apply for UPTAC Lateral Entry 2025, but only if they meet the eligibility criteria by the time of counselling.

Steps to fill the UPTAC Lateral Entry 2025 Application Form
The following steps can be referred to fill the application form of UPTAC Lateral Entry 2025-
Step 1: Registration- In the first step, candidates will have to register for UPCET Lateral Entry 2023 by entering basic details like candidate name, date of birth, mobile number, etc. After filling in all necessary details, candidates have to select a password that will be used in the future.
Step 2: Filling UPTAC Lateral Entry Application Form- After successful registration, candidates will have to log in to the candidate portal to fill in details like personal, academic and communication details.
Step 3: Uploading Documents - After filling the application form correctly, candidates have to upload the scanned images of their photograph and signature as per specifications given by the authorities. The photograph should be passport-sized, coloured with a white or off white background.

UPTAC Lateral Entry 2025 Seat Allotment
After counselling, authorities will allot the seats to the candidates in the order of merit to all the students who take part in the counselling. It should be noted that UPTAC lateral entry seat allotment will be done based on merit list, availability of seats and choices locked by the candidates. All the allotted seats should reach the allotted institute on the date and time prescribed by the authorities. Failing to report on time will lead to forfeiture of a seat. Candidates will have to deposit the college fees and confirm their seat while reporting to the institute.
