QnA related to JEE Main

Ask your question related to JEE Main

In JEE Main exam pattern , each correct answer in Paper 1 (B.Tech) is awarded 4 marks, and each incorrect answer results in a deduction of 1 mark. Unanswered questions do not incur any negative marking. Paper 1 includes 90 questions, 75 of which are to be attempted.

These questions are divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with 25 questions each (20 MCQs and 5 numerical value questions). The total marks for Paper 1 are 300.

Hello Ashutosh,

If you have completed your UPTAC counselling verification with the correct Class 12 board, school name, and original marksheet - and the statuses were "passed" or you verified as a "pass" when the online document verification showed "passed" - the incorrect information in the JEE application (whether the board name, school or school type) should not lead to cancellation at physical reporting.

During physical reporting, the institutes are primarily checking that the original documents correspond to the verified documents in the counselling. Since you would have included the information to provide in the UPTAC verification, and it was accepted, you should be okay. Just ensure to carry along the originals and the UPTAC verification slip so that you can without hassles.

Hi,

JEE Mains previous year question papers and answer keys are available on the official NTA JEE website for the past several years. For older papers (more than 4–5 years back), you can find them in JEE preparation books by publishers like Arihant, MTG, or Disha, which compile the last 10 years’ papers with solutions or you can find in trusted educational websites also . Solving past 10 years’ papers is an excellent way to understand exam patterns, frequently asked concepts, and improve time management. I recommend downloading both shift 1 and shift 2 papers for each year, as the JEE Mains now conducts multiple sessions.

Good luck with your preparation.

Thank you.

Here's the topics you can start preparing while official syllabus get released:
- Physics: Unit & Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of motion, Work-Energy-Power, Gravitation, Thermodynamics, Oscillation & Waves, Properties of Solids & Liquids, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects, Optics, Modern Physics, Experimental Skills.
- Chemistry: Broadly Segmented into Organic, Inorganic, and Physical- topics like Purification & Characterization, Basic Principles, Hydrocarbons, Biomolecules, Practical Chemistry.

Hello!

Ideally, GPAT preparation should start around 8–10 months before the exam to give yourself enough time to cover the syllabus and revise properly. Since GPAT is a competitive exam, consistency is the key. You can start with 2–3 hours of study daily in the initial months and then increase it to 6–8 hours as the exam approaches. Break your schedule into three phases: Phase 1 (first 4 months) – cover the entire syllabus subject by subject, focusing on concepts and notes; Phase 2 (next 3 months) – revise topics and start solving previous year papers; Phase 3 (final 2 months) – focus on mock tests, time management, and weaker areas. Always reserve the last few weeks for pure revision and formula memorization. Remember, regular revision and practice are more important than long study hours without focus.

Wishing you all the best for your GPAT journey. Thank you!

Hi!

As per current JEE Mains eligibility rules, a student can appear in the exam in the year of passing Class 12 and the next two years. If you passed Plus Two in 2021, your direct eligibility window for JEE Mains has already passed. Even if you reattempt Class 12 in 2026, it is generally considered as an improvement attempt, and NTA counts your first attempt year for eligibility purposes. However, rules can change in future, so keep checking the official JEE Mains brochure for 2026–2027. Since you’re already pursuing B.Sc., you can also consider other state-level engineering entrance exams or lateral entry schemes for B.Tech after graduation. These options will help you continue toward your goal without depending only on JEE. It’s good you’re planning ahead, so keep exploring all possible pathways.

Best wishes for your studies!

Since your daughter was born in Kerala and you completed your full education there, she is eligible for KEAM. Even though she is studying in Pune now, she can apply under the “Keralite” category as per KEAM rules. Just make sure to submit valid proof of birth in Kerala and your education certificates from Kerala during the application process. This will ensure she is considered a Keralite for admission purposes.

To apply for JEE Mains 2026 you need to go through online application process that is conducted by NTA(National Testing Agency). Here's a guide along with documents:

1) Register yourself on the official website https://jeemains.nta.nic

2) Fill up the application form with the details written on it.

3) Upload the documents, here's a list of required documents:

- passport size photograph with your name and date written on it

- Signature on white paper

- class 10th certificate

- category certificate if you're not from general

- Adress proof and a Valid ID proof

4) Pay the application fees and download your confirmation application

Important: Application form is expected to open in December 2025 as for season 1 and also in February 2026 as for season 2. So apply accordingly when you are ready to give your 100% in exam.

Hello aspirant,

To score well in CET , the best strategy is to follow the state board syllabus, usually from classes 11 and 12. Focus on understanding the core concepts in Physics, Chemistry, Maths (or Biology for medical stream). You don’t need to study beyond your board syllabus, just be thorough with what’s already there. Practice previous year papers and take mock tests regularly to improve speed and accuracy. Also, time management during the exam is very important, so try to solve questions within a set time. Studying a little every day, even just 2-3 hours with full focus, can give you strong results over a few months. Use NCERT books and CET-specific preparation books to strengthen your basics and boost confidence.

All the best!

Hello,

To get admission to Siddhartha Institute of Pharma in Hyderabad, you need a rank in the range of 20,000 and 25,000 in the entrance exam named TS EAMCET. Also, for rounds 1 and 2, the cutoff rank is 20138, and if you fall under this rank, you can clearly get admission in just the first two rounds and don't need the later rounds.

I hope it will clear your query!!
