QnA related to JEE Main

Ask your question related to JEE Main

hi ,

your predicted rank can be somewhere between - 1,05,000 - 1,10,000 although this can vary due to the number of students participating .

the potential colleges that you can get are as follows -

  • NIT ( possible in home state quota )
  • newer IIITs
  • government funded technical college
  • good private college accepting jee main .

hope this helps

With a 79.57 percentile in JEE Mains 2025 under the SC category, your chances of getting into a top NIT or IIIT are relatively low. Typically, you'd need a percentile score of at least 90-92 to have decent chances of getting into an NIT or IIIT.

However, there are some NITs and IIITs that may consider your score. Here are a few examples:

- NIT Mizoram: Civil Engineering (closing rank around 8376 in the SC category)

- NIT Nagaland: Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (closing rank around 8641 in the SC category)

- NIT Agartala*l: Production Engineering (closing rank around 9207 in the SC category)

Keep in mind that these cutoffs are based on previous years' data and may vary for the 2025 session. To get a better idea of your chances, I recommend using a JEE Main college predictor tool.

Additionally, you may also consider private engineering colleges that accept JEE Main scores. Some examples include:

- Bengal College of Engineering and Technology, Durgapur

- Aditya College of Technology and Science, Satna

- Oriental College of Technology, Bhopal

Yes, as a JEE aspirant, you can fill up the HSC Form No. 17 to appear for the 12th exam in 2026 as a private candidate, provided your state board allows it. Key points to remember:

  • Form 17 is for private candidates:

This form is specifically designed for students who want to appear for the HSC exam privately, not attending a regular college.

  • Eligibility check:

Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria set by your state board regarding age and previous academic qualifications to appear as a private candidate.

  • Impact on JEE:

Filling the Form 17 will not affect your eligibility for the JEE exam as long as you are appearing for the 12th standard examination recognized by the JEE authorities in 2026.

  • Check deadlines:

Be aware of the deadlines for submitting the Form 17 as they vary depending on your state board.

hi ,

YES , a duplicate mark sheet issued by CBSE is valid for the document verification for JEE main registration , provided it has to be duly verified by the CBSE .

the duplicate mark sheet is valid only when it has the following points .

  • it must have official CBSE issuance .
  • it should have official CBSE stamp and signature for authenticity .
  • as jee requires scanned  copies ensure that document is clear and legible

hope this helps

hi. ,

the G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science (GNITS)  in Hyderabad primarily admits students through TS EAMCET . however for category B seats GNITS also consider JEE mains examination .

to enhance your chances to get admission aim for 90 or above percentile .

Hello,

If you didn’t qualify for JEE Mains in the first attempt, follow these steps for the April attempt :

  1. Analyze Mistakes – Review your January attempt, identify weak topics, and focus on improvement.
  2. Revise Smartly – Prioritize important topics and previous year questions.
  3. Mock Tests & Time Management – Attempt full-length mocks and analyze performance.
  4. Strengthen Concepts – Work on weaker subjects while maintaining strong areas.
  5. Solve NCERT & PYQs – NCERT is key for Chemistry; practice previous year questions for all subjects.
  6. Stay Consistent & Positive – Follow a disciplined routine and stay confident.

Hello,

Here is an overview :-

  • UGEE SUPR Section: The SUPR (Subject Proficiency) section tests conceptual understanding. While BITSAT-style questions (speed and accuracy-based) help, you must also focus on JEE Advanced-level conceptual problems, as UGEE questions are deeper.

  • UGEE Hope: An 85 percentile in JEE Main is not ideal, but UGEE focuses on understanding rather than just speed. If you improve problem-solving, logic, and reasoning , you have a good chance.

  • Preparation Strategy: Revise JEE concepts thoroughly, solve Olympiad, JEE Advanced, and past UGEE questions for best results.

  • Interview Round: UGEE includes an interview. Strengthen your fundamentals and communication for success.

Hello,

Yes, you can apply for the NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) board and still be eligible for JEE 2026 and JoSAA counseling . Here are key points:

  1. Eligibility for JEE – NIOS students can apply for JEE Main & Advanced , as long as they meet subject and percentage criteria.
  2. JoSAA Admission – NIOS is accepted for IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs through JoSAA.
  3. Minimum Marks – For IITs: 75% (or top 20 percentile) in 12th is required. For NITs/IIITs: 75% in PCM.
  4. Apply for NIOS – You can appear for Senior Secondary (Class 12) exams in 2025 or 2026.
  5. Ensure PCM Subjects – You must take Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in NIOS.
