What is the NUCAT exam?

Nitte University conducts its entrance examination, NUCAT, to offer admissions into the B.tech courses. The full form of NUCAT is the Nitte University Common Admission Test. The NUCAT exam is conducted as a remotely proctored online test. The exam is held three times a year. Candidates are offered admission based on their merit in the NUCAT entrance exam 2026. The test will include topics from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

NUCAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to appear for the NUCAT exam must meet the NUCAT eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria of NUCAT 2026 comprise education qualification, age and others. Nitte University will release the NUCAT entrance exam 2026 eligibility criteria on the official website, nucat.nitte.edu.in. Only those candidates who meet the NUCAT exam eligibility criteria can take the NUCAT exam 2026. The university admits candidates under two categories- General and NRI categories. NUCAT Eligibility Criteria for General Category

Age- The candidate should have completed 17 years of age as of 31st December of the year of admission

Educational Qualification- The candidate should have passed class 12 or equivalent examination with not less than 45% marks as an aggregate in the optional subjects of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics, with English as one of the languages of study. Candidates appearing for class 12 examination are eligible to apply for NUCAT.

NUCAT Eligibility Criteria for NRI Category

Age- The candidate should have completed 17 years of age as of 31st December of the year of admission

Educational Qualification- Candidates who are Foreign nationals, Persons of Indian Origin including Overseas Citizens of India or Candidates who have passed Class 12 outside India or Candidates who have passed Class 12 in India but sponsored by parents/blood relatives having NRI status fall under NRI/Foreign National category. The admission under NRI category will be based on inter-se merit considering the marks secured in PCM subjects in Class 12.

NUCAT 2026 Application Process

Nitte University will commence the NUCAT 2026 application form on the official website, nucat.nitte.edu.in. The application form of NUCAT exam 2026 will available in online mode only. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before filling out the application form. The NUCAT application form 2026 process will comprise online registration, filling out the form, uploading the documents and payment of the application fee. All the details of the admission procedure through NUCAT will be sent to the candidates only after the successful completion of registration.

• Now register as a first-time user

• Enter all the required details

• After completing the registration process, applicants have to log in using the login credentials.

• Candidates will be able to fill out the application form only after successful login

• Fill out the application form by providing all the required details and uploading the documents

• Pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1000 through credit card/debit card/net banking/UPI

• On successful payment, the application form will be submitted. Candidates need to print the confirmation page for future reference.

To prepare for the NUCAT entrance exam 2026 effectively, students must follow these most important exam preparation tips.

• Understand the exam pattern and syllabus: While preparing for an exam, it is always important to check out the exam pattern, marking scheme, and syllabus. Check the weightage of different topics so that you can divide your time and make a preparation strategy accordingly.

• Create a study timetable: A daily routine or study schedule is a must if you are preparing for the exam seriously. Make a timetable that covers all the subjects and topics before the exam. Divide time for each subject and ensure regular and consistent study sessions.

NUCAT Slot Booking 2026

Candidates will be required to book the slots for the NUCAT exam within the specified period. The authorities will send out e-mails containing the links for slot booking to the registered email address. Candidates will have to click on the link and set up their password. Only after setting the password will the applicants be able to book their preferred time slots. Candidates will be able to download and print their admit cards after completing this step. Hence, it is mandatory to book the slots before the slot booking last date. The NUCAT slot booking 2026 dates will be updated on the official website.

NUCAT 2026 Admit Card

The authorities will release the NUCAT 2026 admit card on the official website. The admit card is an important document that will contain all the detailed information regarding the exam, timings, instructions etc. Candidates will be required to download the NUCAT admit card to appear for the mock test as well as the actual test. NMAMIT aspirants will be able to download the admit card while booking the slot for NUCAT 2026. Candidates must print the admit card for future reference.

NUCAT 2026 Mock Test

The authorities release the NUCAT mock test on the official website. Candidates will require their login credentials and admit card to attempt the mock test. NUCAT aspirants must attempt the mock test to familiarise themselves with the exam pattern and to improve their speed and accuracy. Candidates will be able to check the NUCAT 2026 mock test release date on the official website, nucat.nitte.edu.in. The mock test will be available for one week before the NUCAT entrance exam. Candidates can attempt the mock test only once.

NUCAT 2026 Answer Key

The exam conducting authorities will release the answer key of NUCAT on the candidate dashboard. To view the NUCAT answer key candidates will need to log in using their login credentials. The NUCAT 2026 answer key will be displayed for two days after the test. Candidates will not be able to view the answer key after two days. The answer key will provide the correct answers to all the questions asked in the exam. Using the NUCAT 2026 answer key candidates will be able to check their responses with the correct answers and calculate their probable scores before the official results are declared.

NUCAT 2026 Results

Nitte University will release the rank/merit list on the official website, nucat.nitte.edu.in most probably in June, after the completion of all three rounds of NUCAT 2026. All the candidates who appear for the NUCAT exam must check the NUCAT results to know their ranks/merit. NUCAT 2026 Counselling

Following the declaration of the NUCAT result, the authorities shall conduct NUCAT counselling.
