KCET paper analysis 2025 - KCET 2026 is coming near, and preparations are going on. We have given the paper analysis of KCET 2025 based on the student's reaction. For the year 2026, KCET is tentatively scheduled to be conducted in May, with exact dates to be announced by KEA. Candidates planning to appear for KCET 2026 should keep an eye on official notifications and begin their preparation early to secure a good rank and admission into their desired courses.
As the KCET 2026 exam preparations are going on, candidates can check the KCET exam analysis to know the paper difficulty level, high weightage topics, distributions of questions and much more. The KEA exam authority conducted the KCET 2025 in two sessions, session 1 for Maths & Biology and session 2 for Physics and chemistry. The KCET 2025 paper analysis provides insights into the overall exam trends, including subject-wise difficulty levels and topic-wise weightage.
The KCET 2026 exam is anticipated to be similar to traditional KCET exams, covering Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and optional Biology.
1. Mathematics: Mathematics has 60 questions on average and tends to be the most challenging section of the exam. Generally the questions focus on Algebra (Quadratic Equations, Matrices, etc.), Calculus (Differentiation and Integration), Trigonometry, Coordinate Geometry, and Probability. The suggested range of attempts is around 40–45 questions to ensure an accurate attempt in this section, as this section demands a combination of speed and accuracy.
2. Physics: Physics usually has around 60 questions and is generally considered moderate in difficulty. Important topics include Mechanics (Laws of Motion, Work and Energy), Electricity and Magnetism, Optics, and Modern Physics. The questions will be a mix of concept-based questions and numerical questions. Well-prepared students will likely have a good attempt range of around 35–40 questions.
3. Chemistry: Chemistry is generally 60 questions with moderate difficulty. Main focus topics will be Physical Chemistry (Mole Concept, Thermodynamics), Organic Chemistry (Hydrocarbons, Functional Group), and Inorganic Chemistry (Periodic Table, Chemical Bonding). The section is largely NCERT based and is predictable for the students who revise that content, as the same questions are rewritten each year. A well-prepared student should be approximately 35–40 good attempts.
The exam analysis of KCET 2024 has been updated here. Candidates can check the detailed analysis for the KCET exam to know the paper's difficulty level.

As per the experts of Knowledge Management, Deeksha; Overall, the paper was easy. An average student can score about 30-35 marks out of 60 marks. Only a few questions were a bit difficult. There were no out of syllabus questions and all were framed as per the NCERT textbook. It was also easy in comparison to last year as the questions were memory and conceptual-based. Assertion Reasoning and statement-based questions were not given this year. There were no errors with the question paper.
As per the student reviews on the Chemistry paper, the exam was easy to moderate in difficulty. There were more questions from IIPUC as compared to IPUC.
Student reactions on the KCET Physics paper were mixed as for some students, the questions were moderately difficult, while some others found the paper much more difficult. Here again, questions from IIPUC were more in number as compared to IPUC.
According to the students who appeared for the Mathematics paper of KCET 2020, the exam was an easy and moderate paper. All of the questions were from within the syllabus of I PU and II PU. The paper also consisted of 17 questions from I PU and 43 from II PU portions. According to Resonance BASE, a well-prepared student will be able to score a maximum of 90% in the exam.
Bhavna, an aspirant who appeared for KCET 2020 biology paper, found the paper very easy. There were adequate arrangements for candidates in view of covid-19 and every student was wearing masks.
Swaroop Janney, another KCET 2020 aspirant who appeared for the biology exam, the paper was quite normal but the preparedness of the exam conducting authority was not satisfactory at the exam centre.
Another aspirant said Biology question paper was quite easy. Questions from 1st pu was very very low. Some of her friends found it difficult. Questions like Genesis graph was also asked, labeling floral diagrams, fungi examples
According to Resonance BASE, the question paper was balanced with an almost equal number of questions from Botany and Zoology. The 1st year concepts had 15 questions while 2nd year had 45 questions. Students who prepared well from the NCERT Biology textbooks and learnt the concepts thoroughly will be able to easily ace the exam.

Hi there,
Yes, your daughter is still allowed to go for the vacancy round in KCET counselling.
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) after the third round, typically holds a vacancy round, which is an extended or special round, to fill those seats that are left unallocated due to withdrawals or unreported admissions.
As her KCET rank is 34,000, she still has quite a good shot of attaining a seat, especially in private or newly established engineering colleges, or in branches that have lesser demand.
Just frequently visit the official KEA website for the latest updates about the vacancy or casual round schedule, and be all set with the documents so that she can participate at the earliest when the portal goes live.
Hope it helps!!!
Thank you.

Hello,
It's unlikely you'll get a veterinary college in Bangalore with a KCET rank of 5000, even with the ST caste and CRPF quota, as the general cutoff is often around 1200, and even special category quotas typically don't extend that far.
I hope it will clear your query!!
