    JEE Advanced Competition Level 2026 - Joint Entrance Examination Advanced is a nation-level entrance test for admission to the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) in India. It is a highly competitive exam that required candidates to first qualify in the JEE Mains exam to even attempt it. Every year, the top 2, 50,000 qualifying candidates in the JEE Mains are allowed to appear for JEE Advanced exam. These students will compete for around a total of 17760 seats at IITs.     • Fixed Number of Seats: The fixed number of seats in IITs is 17760. Which is significantly low compared to the number of students appearing for the IIT JEE Advanced.

    • More Attempts Allowed: Candidates are allowed to appear for JEE Advanced twice in two consecutive years. This means droppers will also appear with the current year students. The competition becomes high because droppers have the advantage of better preparation and familiarity with the IIT JEE Advanced competition level.
