About JEE Advanced 2023

JEE Advanced 2023 exam is a national-level exam that will be held in online mode across the nation. IIT Guwahati will conduct JEE Advanced 2023 for all top 2,50,000 JEE Main 2023 qualified candidates on June 4, 2023.

Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced is a national-level exam and is the second level that the candidates need to qualify after qualifying JEE Main 2023. Every year approximately 2.5 lakh JEE Main candidates sit for this entrance test. JEE Advanced 2023 exam is conducted by any one of the 7 IITs namely IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Roorkee or Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, under Joint Admission Board (JAB).

• As per the lastest notification OCI/PIO candidates shall be considered as Indian nationals.
• At the time of seat allocation, the OCI/PIO candidates shall be considered for the seats in the OPEN category. The OCI/PIO candidates shall be included in the Common Rank List, and/or CRL-PwD list as also for the Female Supernumerary seats, as applicable, subject to qualifying the JEE (Advanced) 2023. The OCI/PIO candidates are not entitled to the benefit of reservation under the GEN-EWS, OBC (NCL), SC or ST categories for the allocation of seats. The OCI/PIO candidates shall be considered for seat allocation under the OPEN and OPEN-PwD categories as also for the Female Supernumerary seats, as applicable, at the time of seat allocation.

JEE Advanced 2023: Changes introduced this year

• The registration fee is changed from INR 1400 for Indian students of female/SC/ST/PwD category to INR 1450 and for general category students the fee is INR 2900. And the registration fee for foreign students residing in SAARC countries is USD 90 and for students of non-SAARC countries the fee is USD 180.
• Foreign nationals who have studied or are studying in India/abroad at 10+2 level or equivalent and wish to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2023 are not required to write the JEE Main 2023.
• All the relaxations that were given to the students due to Covid-19 are removed this year.

Question 1: I appeared for Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2022. Am I eligible for JEE Advanced 2023?

Answer: YES. You are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2023, provided you also satisfy all the eligibility criteria mentioned in the Information Brochure (see Clause11. Eligibility Criteria for Indian Nationals appearing for JEE Advanced 2023).

Question 2: I appeared for class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2021 and my class XII (or equivalent) examination board declared the results before October 25, 2021. I did not appear for JEE Advanced 2021 but appeared for JEE Advanced 2022. Am I eligible for JEE Advanced 2023?

Answer: NO. You are NOT eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2023.

Question 3: I registered for JEE Advanced 2022 but did not appear for both paper 1 and paper 2. Do I have to qualify JEE Main 2023 in order to appear for JEE Advanced 2023?

Answer: YES. You MUST qualify JEE Mains 2023 in order to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2023. You also need to satisfy all the other eligibility criteria mentioned in the Information Brochure (see Clause 11. Eligibility Criteria for Indian Nationals appearing for JEE Advanced 2023).

Question 4: I had taken admission to one of the NITs in 2022. Am I eligible for JEE Advanced 2023?

Answer: YES. Candidates who had taken admissions to NITs in 2022 are eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2023, provided they satisfy all other eligibility criteria mentioned in the Information Brochure (see Clause 11. Eligibility Criteria for Indian Nationals appearing for JEE (Advanced) 2023).

Question 5: If I am absent in one of the papers (Paper1, Paper 2) in JEE Advanced 2023, will my result be declared?

Answer: NO. Your result will neither be prepared nor be declared. It is compulsory to appear for both the JEE Main 2023 papers.
