What is the TNEA 2018 random number?
The random number of TNEA 2018 is a unique number assigned to each applicant. The TNEA 2018 random number is given to each applicant to resolve any conflict when two or more candidates get the same rank and the inter-se-merit cannot be resolved even after using criteria like marks in subjects, date of birth etc. The generation of the TNEA random number 2018 is based on a unique number generating algorithm. It is a 10-digit computer generated randomly and assigned to each of the TNEA 2018 applicants.
How is the TNEA Inter-se-merit resolved?
The TNEA merit list will be prepared based on the total mark of 200. When two or more candidates get the same marks then the inter-se-merit rules are used to resolve and allot the ranks. These rules are
Percentage of marks obtained by candidates in Mathematics in their 10+2
Percentage of marks obtained by candidates in Physics in their 10+2
Percentage of marks obtained by candidates in the Fourth optional subject in their 10+2
Date of Birth (the older candidate will be given preference)
TNEA Random number assigned (higher value will be given preference)
The rank list of TNEA 2018 has been announced on June 28. The rank list contains details of the candidates like name, category along with the rank obtained after normalization of the marks obtained in the qualifying exam. Counselling will be as per the TNEA rank list. The ranks will be separate for each category along with the rank lists which will also be separate as mentioned.
Candidates will have to login by entering their registered email ID and password to access the rank list. The TNEA 2018 rank list is prepared after reducing marks obtained in 10+ 2 to a base of 200 (Physics + Chemistry =100, Mathematics =100). As seen, Mathematics is given more weightage than the other two subjects. In addition, a normalization method prescribed by the university will also be incorporated to derive the rank lists.
