TNEA Eligibility Criteria 2019- The candidates applying for admission to B.Tech programmes offered by Tamil Nadu colleges will have to fulfil TNEA 2019 eligibility criteria as prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu. Who Can Apply For TNEA 2019?
To apply for TNEA 2019 candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by the authorities. For the reference of the candidates, mentioned below is the TNEA 2019 eligibility criteria in detail:

Eligibility of TNEA 2019 is based on the following parameters:
TNEA Eligibility Criteria 2019 Based on Nativity
Candidates who have passed VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standard in Tamil Nadu will be eligible to apply for TNEA 2019. Such candidates nativity certificate will not be required.
Candidates whose parents are central government employees will be also eligible to apply for admission, irrespective of their nativity, provided if their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past 5 years at the time of application submission. The same has to be supported by enclosing a certificate from the employer of the parent or guardian, to that effect.
Candidates who are Tamil Nadu natives but have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI and XII class or their equivalent examination from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply. However, such candidates will have to enclose a copy of their nativity certificate only in online mode (electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate).
Candidates whose parents are employees of All India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers will also be eligible to apply.
Candidates whose parents are employees in public sector or government recognised institutions at the time of application submission in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years can also apply for admission, irrespective of their domicile. However, such candidates will have to enclose a certificate from the employer along with the application form stating that the person is a permanent employee of the form or institution along with evidence like income tax return, PF slips etc and is working in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past 5 years.
Candidates who have studied in Tamil Nadu and are Srilankan Tamil refugee can also apply however, they will be considered under open category. They will have to produce their identification certificate from the Head Quarters Tahsildar. For all those who have not registered in the refugee camp will have to submit a copy of their passport, visa and letter registered with police station.
Candidates from outside Tamil Nadu are also eligible to apply for TNEA, provided they have studied VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standard in Tamil Nadu. They do not have to disclose their nativity certificate.
Academic qualification required for TNEA 2019
Candidates should have passed in the HSC (academic) or its equivalent examination with a minimum average percentage in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics put together as given in the table below:

If candidate is not meeting this eligibility criteria of TNEA 2019, he/she must meet the below one:
Candidates should clear any one of the HSC (vocational subject) as given in the table below. Along with this any one of the Engineering related subjects – Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics with a minimum average percentage combined.

TNEA 2019 Eligibility Criteria To Meet if Applying on Basis of Branch
If a candidate is applying on the basis of branch, he/she should meet the following criteria:
For Marine engineering branch- Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subject with an average of 60 % in PCM combined.
A minimum 50 % in English either in class 10 or 12 standard is required for all the candidates.
Other TNEA 2019 Eligibility Criteria to Meet to apply for Marine Engineering
Apart from the above mentioned one candidates also need to meet following criteria:
Age criteria- Maximum age limit is 25 years
Minimum height 157 cm
Minimum weight 48 kg
Normal color vision
Medical Fitness Requires- Candidates applying for the entrance exam must ensure that they are medically fit for the course. They will be admitted only on production of physical fitness certificate obtained from the Medical Officer authorised by the Director General of Shipping, failing which they will lose the admission.
TNEA Eligibility Criteria 2019 for Female Candidates Applying for Mining Engineering
Female candidates applying for Mining engineering must meet the following eligibility criteria of TNEA 2019 before filling the application form:
No female will be allowed to work in any mine above ground except between the hours of 6 am and 7 pm.
Below the ground, no female will be a part of a mine.
No adolescent or female must descend or ascend a shaft in a cage or other means of conveyance unless accompanied by one or more adult males.
