    TNEA Eligibility Criteria 2026 - DoTE Tamil Nadu will publish the TNEA 2026 eligibility criteria on the official website, tneaonline.org. The TNEA 2026 eligibility criteria will be mentioned in the information brochure. Candidates must meet the detailed eligibility conditions before applying for TNEA counselling. Only those who fulfil these criteria will be considered for TNEA 2026 admission. It will comprise details on the required academic qualification, nativity and program-specific requisites.     TNEA 2026 Eligibility Criteria

    TNEA eligibility criteria conditions will be released by the Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu. State and non-state candidates will be eligible to apply provided that they follow the additional conditions explained here. The following data is as per the previous year's TNEA brochure.

    TNEA Eligibility Criteria 2026 - Nativity

    Candidates who have passed class 8, 9, 10 11 and 12 from Tamil Nadu

    Such candidates do not need to submit any nativity proof to the authorities

    Candidates who have passed any of class 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12 or other equivalent examinations from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu

    Such candidates have to submit a Nativity Certificate (only in electronic form or digitally signed e-certificate)

    Children of Central Government Employees serving continuously in Tamil Nadu for the past 5 years

    Certificate from the employer of such parent or guardian (if both parents have passed away) regarding such employment in Tamil Nadu.

    Children of people employed in the Public sector or government-recognized institutes, continuously for the past 5 years

    Certificate from the employer stating such person (Applicant’s parent) is a permanent employee along with any one of Income Tax return, PF Slips, etc., and 5 years or more work tenure.

    Children of All India Service Tamil Nadu cadre officers

    Proof of employment

    Srilankan Tamil Refugee studied in Tamil Nadu

    Identification certificate from the Head Quarters Tahsildar or otherwise a cop of passport, visa, and letter registered with the police station

    *Candidates have to produce original grade certificates to prove their scores or otherwise they shall be considered to have complied with the minimum score only. Also, rounding of marks shall not be considered for calculating the minimum marks as per TNEA 2026 eligibility criteria.

    Qualifying Examination

    Candidates should have passed class 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized institute

    Mandatory Subjects

    They should have Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English in qualifying examination

    Minimum Score

    There has to be a minimum score of 60% in PCM

    Also, score of at least 50% in English either at 10 or 10+2 level

    Additional Requirements

    • Maximum age - 25 years

    • Minimum Height - 157 cm

    • Minimum Weight - 48 kg

    • Colour vision - Normal

    *In addition to the conditions mentioned above, candidates have to comply with the physical fitness norms by producing a certificate obtained from an authorised medical officer.
