TNEA 2020 Application Form - Students were able to fill the application form of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission, commonly known as TNEA, in online mode from July 15 to August 16. However, the last date to uplaod documents was August 24. The process of TNEA application form 2020 was completely online and consisted of registration, filling of detailed application form and payment of application fee. Students desirous of admission in B.Tech courses in Tamil Nadu have to apply through TNEA. Admission is offered on the basis of marks in class 12. All the procedures of TNEA 2020 admission will be administered by Anna University. Documents Required for Filling TNEA 2020 Application Form
Candidates had to be ready with the following details while filling the TNEA application form 2020. Students had to provide only the correct information per the official documents as incorrect information would lead to cancellation of TNEA application form.

Steps Involved in Filling TNEA 2020 Application Form
Candidates were advised to fill the application form of TNEA with utmost care as incorrect information could lead to cancellation of the candidature. Each and every particular must be from the concerned official document only. Students who completed the application form within due dates are eligible for counselling and seat allotment. For better understanding, candidates may check below the detailed step by step guide to fill TNEA application form 2020.
Step 1- Registration: The Registration consisted of information regarding name, mobile phone number, e-mail ID, qualifying examination, HSC registration number, login Id, password (self-created), date of birth, and qualifying year of HSC.
After entering all the above details, candidates received an OTP in their mobile phone number and email ID. Candidates had to enter the OTP at the space provided and press the “Submit” button to complete the registration.
Step 2- Login- After successful registration, candidates had to log in to the candidate portal using their User Id and password.
Step 3- Uploading Scanned Images of Original Documents: Candidates had to upload the scanned images of all the original documents listed below
- 10th Mark Sheet
- HSC First year (+1) Marksheet
- HSC Second year (+2) / Equivalent Mark sheet
- HSC Hall Ticket
- Transfer Certificate
- Permanent Community Certificate for ST, SC, SCA, MBC & DNC, BC and BCM (either Permanent card or electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate)
- Nativity Certificate (only in electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate) (if applicable)
- Income certificate (if applicable)
- First Graduate Certificate (only in electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate) and First Graduate Joint Declaration (if applicable)
- Srilankan Tamil Refugee Certificate (if applicable)
- Candidates who applied for special reservation (i) Relevant certificates for Son / Daughter of Ex-service men with Parent’s discharge certificate and ID card (ii) Differently abled persons should bring Medical Certificate obtained from Medical Board (Consists of 3 Doctors) * Eminent sports persons* should submit all sports achievements certificates with necessary forms.
Step 4 - Personal Information: Candidates will had to provide their personal details such as gender, nationality, nativity, community, religion, caste name, parent’s name, contact address, permanent address, Aadhaar number, district, state and pincode. All of the details had to be valid. Click on “Save and Proceed”.
Step 5- Filling Special Reservation Information: Candidates belonging to special categories like differently abled had to select the special reservation box in order to be considered for the benefits.
Step 6- Payment of Application Fee: Students had to pay the application fee in online mode through credit/debit card or net banking. Students could also pay application fee through Demand Draft but only at the TFC.

Step 7- Scholarship Information: Students had to provide information about any scholarship they had availed/availing or they require scholarship for their further studies through TNEA. Candidates had to select from the list of available options applicable to them and provide details about the scholarship.
Step 8- Providing Educational and School Information: At this stage, candidates had to provide information about the schools from class 8 to 12. Qualifying exam/HSC details like register number, school name, board of study, percentage of marks, group code etc. Additional information like nativity, medium of instruction are required to be entered here. After completely entering the required details, candidates had to click on the “Save & Proceed” button.
Step 9 - Additional Information: Next, the candidates had to enter other details such as medium of instruction, mother tongue, parent’s occupation etc.
Step 10 - Preview/Submit Application Form: After all of the details are provided, the candidates were advised to preview and check for any mistakes If no mistakes are found, then the candidates had to submit it.
Step 11- Final Submission of Form: Candidates had to press the “Save Temporarily” button and preview their filled application form carefully. After checking all the details provided, candidates could proceed to “Final Submit” to submit the form. Students had to download the filled application form and take a print of it to be submitted at the TNEA facilitation centre along with the other required documents.
Reporting to TNEA Facilitation Centre (TFC)
Students have to report to the TFCs for document verification. Candidates need to carry their TNEA 2020 application form along with all the required documents in original and a set of xerox copies. The officials at the TFC will verify all the original and xerox copies of documents and the original copies will be handed over back to candidates. Students will be issued a TNEA random number after verification of documents which will be the identity of candidate for the whole admission process of TNEA.
