The authority calculates KEAM 2026 marks and allots KEAM rank by giving 50:50 weightage of marks to both 10+2 marks and KEAM exam marks. Below is the step-by-step procedure on how KEAM marks and rank is calculated by the KEAM authority.
First, 10+2 marks of Maths, Physics, and Chemistry will be taken, and all 3 subjects will be given weightage in a 5:3:2 ratio out of a total of 300 marks.
The normalisation formula is used to obtain a score in each subject.
The normalisation formula used is students' marks / highest marks scored in that board for that subject multiplied by 100. The result is the normalised score.
The normalisation score of 10+2 is calculated out of 300, and the same is calculated for the KEAM entrance score out of 300.
The authority decides the KEAM engineering rank by adding both normalised scores out of 600.
If there is a tie, then the tie-breaking rules are followed.
The authority follows the rules below in the case of tie-breaking between candidates with the same scores. After taking into consideration all the points below, the final KEAM merit list is allotted to the candidates.
Higher marks in Mathematics will be considered first.
Second, higher marks in physics will be taken for calculation.
Next, the highest marks in Mathematics in 12th class will be considered to break the tie.
The highest marks in physics will be taken into account.
If the tie is still not broken, then the candidate of elder age with be allotted merit rank.

As the original 12th TC was last, it is important for you to get a duplicate one and it must be obtained from the school. You might have write a formal application and you might required an affidavit as well.
Hello Dear Student,
Getting an SM (State Merit) seat type in the trial allotment instead of EW (Economically Weaker Section) is completely normal. CEE Kerala allots seats based on merit; since your rank qualified for an open, unreserved seat, you were allotted SM.
Hope it helps!
