    JEE Advanced 2026 Timing - Reporting Time, Gate Closing and Instructions

    JEE Advanced 2026 Timings: The IIT Roorkee has released the JEE Advanced 2026 exam timings on the official website. As per the official update, paper 1 will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while paper 2:30 PM will be conducted from 5:30 PM. Candidates may refer to the complete details of JEE Advanced timing 2026 of the exam paper schedule, reporting schedule, and total exam duration online. The papers are to be retained for three hours and all candidates are required to appear in both papers. Candidates must carry along with a valid original photo ID proof to the examination centres. Accepted ID proofs include Aadhar ID and Driving licence, Passport, Pan Card, Voter ID. The authority will conduct the JEE Advanced 2026 exam on May 17, 2026.

    Candidates arriving at the examination centre after commencement of the examination in each paper 09:00 AM for Paper 1 and 1:30 for Paper 2 will not be allowed to take the examination under any circumstances. The main entrance of the examination centre will be closed at 9:00 hrs for Paper 1 and at 14:30 hrs for Paper 2.

    JEE Advanced 2026 Documents and Identity Verification Guidelines

    • Candidates are required to carry their Printer downloaded Admit Card to the Exam.

    • Applicants must apply with their own original photo ID card.

    • Valid ID cards include Aadhaar Card, Passport Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving License, School/College ID and Notarized Certificate with Photo.

    • Candidates will not be allowed to appear for the examination without an admit card and valid ID proof.

    • Invigilators and IIT representatives will carry out identity verification.

    • The candidates whose identity is not confirmed may be asked to go through the verification process again.

    • There will be no additional time allotted for verification related delays.

    • Unauthorized and cheating are serious offences.

    • If candidates are engaged in malpractice they could be disqualified and subject to legal proceedings.

    • All questions must be answered and they are all compulsory in Papers 1 and 2.

    • Only candidates appearing in both papers will be considered for evaluation and ranking.

    JEE Advanced 2026 Prohibited Items

    • Extensive frisking will be conducted before entering the examination centre.

    • Female candidates will also undergo proper security checks.

    • Examination centres will open from 07:00 IST.

    • Candidates must report to the examination centre well in advance.

    • Candidates must remain in the examination hall for the entire duration of the paper.

    • Candidates cannot leave before 12:00 IST in Paper 1.

    • Candidates cannot leave before 5:30 IST in Paper 2.

    • Only pens, pencils, transparent water bottle, admit card, and original photo ID are allowed inside the hall.

    • Mobile phones and electronic devices are not allowed.

    • No calculator, smart watch, Bluetooth, earphones or camera will be permitted.

    • No printed papers, handwritten notes, wallets, handbags or pen drives are allowed.

    • Candidates are kindly requested not to wear any metallic jewelry, rings, chains, bracelets, earrings or nose pins.

    • Clothes with large metal buttons should be avoided.

    • Candidates are advised to wear open footwear like sandals or chappals.

    • Candidates should carry drinking water only in transparent bottles.

    • Any COVID-19 related instructions will be updated on the official JEE Advanced website if required.
