Questions related to GATE
can we use ews in gate ? and is it required for filling the application form
Hello,
Yes, candidates belonging to General EWS category can claim the reservation benefits if seeking admission or applying for recruitment based on GATE score. Candidates belonging to EWS and OBC-NCL category do not have to upload the category certificate at the time of filling the application however, they must obtain the certificate in order to submit it if they get admission in an institute based on GATE score if they wish to claim EWS reservation. Also they need to provide EWS certificate if they are applying for any PSUs based on GATE score under EWS category.
In contrast candidates belonging to SC/ST category need to upload certificate certificate at the time of application as they get concession in application fee.
Gate 2023 preparation tips for chemical engineering
If you are preparing for GATE 2023, then the first thing you should know is about the syllabus of GATE. So you can download the syllabus of GATE 2022 and start preparing based on that, because usally the syllabus won't change a much.
Now after you know the syllabus, the thing is you should start clearing those topics out from the books you have in your UG course. Now along with it, it would be better a choice for you to practice problems from the books by Pearson for GATE 2023 which have previous year problems. So studying the topics and practicing problem is the thing you must focus on till the Month of November,2022 as by then you should have completed the GATE syllabus. Now the last two months i.e., from Dec'22 to Jan'23 end you should revise and practice mock tests.
Also while you are studying topics create notes which you will revise through. Make it as brief as possible and it must contain all the important formulaes in the topic.

I hope that this will help.
my gate score is 547 ee branch (obc). Is there any chance of getting microelectronics/ embedded system in any of bits campuses ?
Hey aspirant,
Hope you are doing great....!!!
Depending upon the number of applicants the GATE Score cut off for BITS varies and also depends on the fact how you choose your preference both campus wise and branch wise (for Electronics we have: Micro, Embedded, and Communication) usually PILANI campus cut off is a bit higher, during my counseling time in 2108 it was around 650–700 for BITS Goa, so you can expect higher for Pilani. Nonetheless, you can apply for the BITS HD paper as well since it can help you boost your preference for Campus/ Streamwise.
I hope this helps you!
All the best:)
