Hello,
with a JEE Main general category rank of 38,860, securing admission to electronics and communication engineering (ECE) in top NITs in south india is challenging. however, you may have a chance in newer or less competitive IIITs such as IIIT Srirangam, IIIT Kottayam, or IIITDM Kancheepuram, where ECE closing ranks have extended beyond 35,000 in recent years. its advisable to participate in all JOSAA counselling rounds and consider spot rounds, as cutoff can vary annually based on seat availability and applicant preferenes.
To check JEE Main 2025 Paper 2 result, visit the official NTA website (jeemain.nta.ac.in), click on “JEE Main 2025 Paper 2 Result,” enter your application number, date of birth, and security PIN, then submit to view and download your result.
With a 65 percentile in JEE Mains and an ST category rank of 11115 , getting admission into a top NIT would be challenging, as the closing ranks for popular branches (like CSE, ECE, etc.) are much lower. However, you may still have chances for admission in less competitive NITs or for less preferred branches .
NITs with lower closing ranks : You may have a chance in NITs like NIT Mizoram, NIT Nagaland, or NIT Puducherry .
Less preferred branches : Consider branches with lower demand like Mining Engineering , Metallurgical Engineering , etc.
State Quota : Some states may offer additional seats for ST candidates under state-level counselling.
Make sure to participate in all rounds of JoSAA counselling to maximize your chances.

It is recommended to check the official counseling process for detailed seat allocation based on rank.
Hello! Congratulations on completing your 12th and JEE Mains!
With a 74 percentile in JEE Mains and 71% in your 12th boards, you may find opportunities in private engineering colleges and some state government colleges, depending on your category and home state quota. Top NITs and IIITs might be difficult at this percentile, but you can still get good private colleges like Amity University, LPU, UPES, and colleges under state counseling (like in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, etc.).
You can also use the JEE Main College Predictor by Careers360 to find suitable colleges: https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor
Stay positive and apply through state counseling and private colleges as well!
Hello Naveen,
If you marked "12th appearing" by mistake in the JEE Mains form but you already passed 12th and have valid proof like marksheets and certificates, you generally will not face a big issue during college admission.
At the time of admission, colleges mainly check your original documents. If you submit your correct 12th pass certificate and marksheet, they accept it. However, you might be asked to give a written explanation or an affidavit stating that it was a genuine mistake.
It is a good idea to inform the admitting college in advance during counselling or document verification to avoid last-minute confusion.
I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.
Hello there,
With a 62.80 percentile and an SC category rank of 42,187 in JEE Mains, getting admission to CSE (Computer Science Engineering) or ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) in top NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs may be challenging. However, you do have some possibilities: 1. NITs and IIITs:
CSE/ECE in NITs : The cutoff for these branches in NITs is generally high, and it may be difficult to get admission with your rank. The cutoffs for CSE and ECE typically range from 2000-30,000 depending on the NIT.
Other NITs or GFTIs : You might have a better chance of getting CSE/ECE in some lesser-known NITs or GFTIs , but the competition is still quite tough. 2. State Colleges in Uttarakhand:
Since you are from Uttarakhand , you may have a better chance of getting admission to state engineering colleges or private colleges in the region through state quota or management quota .
Govt. Engineering Colleges : These colleges often have lower cutoffs compared to NITs. You may consider branches like Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering if CSE/ECE isn't available. 3. Private Colleges:
You can also consider top private engineering colleges like UPES , Shiv Nadar University , Amity University , and others that offer CSE/ECE programs through JEE Mains scores . These colleges typically have lower cutoffs than NITs. Conclusion:
For NITs/IIITs : Getting CSE or ECE will be tough with your rank, but you can explore lesser-known NITs or GFTIs .
State Colleges/Private Colleges : You have a better chance of getting admission to CSE/ECE in Uttarakhand state colleges or private colleges.
I recommend exploring all options and participating in counseling to maximize your chances.
I would recommend you to use the JEE Mains College Predictor Tool by Careers360 to get the list of possible colleges you can get with your rank or percentile.

Hello Yuvii
I can understand that gaining 50% marks is not satisfactory , but what i would suggest you First you try to take admission in some private colleges as they conduct their own entrance exams , so try for it and if you want to do family business in future then its okay only you need to complete your bachelors degree so apply for some good private university and try to get admission in those colleges , if you get selected then do hardwork for 2-3 years and who knows , if you will secure a good job in a reputable company so just focus on your skills, and if you don't like my above suggestion then you can also fill the private candidate form and reappear again in exams .
Based on your JEE Mains percentile of 80.4 in the OBC category from Bihar , let's assess your chances of getting admission to GEC Bikaner (Government Engineering College Bikaner) in different branches.
GEC Bikaner offers undergraduate courses (B.Tech) in various branches, including:
Computer Science Engineering (CSE)
Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
Mechanical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Information Technology (IT)
80.4 percentile is a borderline percentile for admission into top branches like CSE and ECE in GEC Bikaner, especially considering the competition and the fact that CSE and ECE tend to close at much lower ranks.
However, you may still have a chance for admission in lower-demand branches like:
IT (Information Technology)
Home State Quota (Bihar) : Since you are from Bihar , you may have an advantage for state quota seats in GEC Bikaner.
Category Reservation (OBC) : The OBC category gives you further advantage with reserved seats.
CSE/ECE : Highly unlikely at 80.4 percentile , especially for general open seats.
Mechanical/Civil/IT/Electrical : Possible , depending on your rank and category quota .
You should definitely apply and see if there are any spot rounds or vacant seats in lower branches .
