Hello,

Securing a 56,000 rank in KCET does make it a bit challenging to get admission to a top government college for BPT , as the cut-offs for popular government institutions are generally much lower. However, there is still a good chance to get a seat in private colleges, especially if you are open to exploring options outside Bengaluru city or in less competitive districts. The availability of seats also depends on the category you belong to, as OBC/SC/ST candidates often have some relaxation in cut-offs. You can also consider management quota seats if finances allow, as they don’t strictly depend on your KCET rank. My advice would be to participate in all counselling rounds, as sometimes seats open up in later phases. Additionally, keep a backup plan in related fields like B.Sc. Physiotherapy or Allied Health Sciences.

Thank you, and best wishes for your admission process.

Hello Kavya,

If you did not choose any options during the choice filling after KCET Round 1 allotment results, it means you did not lock any preferences for that round. In such cases, you will not be allotted a seat in Round 1, and your participation will automatically be considered for the next round, provided you complete the choice filling for that round. However, if you miss choice filling in all rounds, you will not get any seat through KCET counselling. My suggestion is to always participate in each round, even if you are waiting for a better option, because you can upgrade later.

Thank you!

Hello,

If you got a seat in KCET counselling but have decided not to join and instead take a drop, then after the choice entry ends, the seat is usually automatically considered as not joined if you don’t report or pay the fees. It will be returned to the pool for the next rounds or cancelled. For the next year’s counselling, there is generally no penalty or restriction just because you didn’t join the allotted seat this year—KCET allows you to appear fresh each year if you meet eligibility. However, you must make sure that you don’t officially accept the seat and then fail to attend classes, because in some cases colleges may ask for a small seat cancellation fee if admission was confirmed. If your aim is to prepare better and get a better rank next year, you’re safe to do so.

All the best for your preparation! Thank you.

Hello Aspirant,

In case you have not been assigned a seat in the first round of KCET counselling and have joined another college but are now thinking of leaving that college, you should still be able to participate in the next round of KCET. You will not have to do anything to withdraw from KCET counselling, and can also wait for the next round(whenever that is). However, to leave the college you have joined, however, you will need to follow that college's withdrawal procedure (which will generally be that you have to submit a formal application, and pay a fee, if any). Make sure you go through that college's refund policy before you withdraw.

Hello

With a KCET rank of 19567 and family income of 40,000 you can definitely get REVA university under SNQ Quota.

For REVA University, SNQ quota ranks have generally closed from 12,00 to 40,000 depending upon the branch. With your rank, you have a  chance of getting a good branch (Except CS and IT).

Hello Aspirant,

Yes, a General Merit (GM) student should think about attending the 2nd extended round of KCET counselling. Although the seat matrix may reflect "No GM seats" initially, there may still be openings due to withdrawals, non-reporting by allotted candidates, or upgrades from earlier rounds. All vacated seats were renewed, not currently being used by candidates, and some of these openings can be again filled under GM category. Many students have gained good seats in this round by attending 2nd extended counselling, although the first matrix indicated "zero".

Yes, you can be eligible for the KCET exam even if you studied your 11th and 12th (Intermediate) in Andhra Pradesh, provided you meet certain domicile/residency criteria of Karnataka.

Since you completed your schooling up to 10th standard in Karnataka and are a Karnataka domicile, you may be eligible under Clause (a) or (b) of KCET eligibility. These clauses usually include:

  • You must have studied in Karnataka for at least 7 years including 10th.

  • Or one of your parents must have studied in Karnataka for at least 7 years.

  • Or your mother/father must be a Karnataka state government employee.

You will likely need to submit a domicile certificate or study certificate from Karnataka to support your claim.
