Top Government Engineering Colleges in West Bengal 2026

West Bengal has IIT, Kharagpur, which is considered to be one of the top government engineering colleges in West Bengal and in India. According to NIRF, IIT Kharagpur ranks 4th among the engineering colleges. Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur is another good government engineering college in West Bengal which is ranked 19th among the engineering colleges. NIRF is a ranking framework which was launched to rank educational institutes. NIRF ranking is highly considered when a candidate wants to get admission.
