Among the top engineering colleges in India, mechanical engineering showed the best placement rates of the main core branches.
Fourteen premier engineering colleges in the country together averaged a placement rate of about 76 per cent for their BTech in Mechanical Engineering graduates who registered for placement in 2020-21. All 14 are among the top 25 public technical institutions in the country, as ranked by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF 2021). These include 10 IITs, three National Institutes of Technology (NIT) and one state institution.
Careers360 analysed the placement data in detail of the BTech Mechanical batch of 2020-21 from reputed engineering colleges across the nation. The data was collected via Right To Information (RTI) application and there were institutions which did not disclose or gave unclear data. Wherever such data was found, those institutions were excluded from the analysis.
IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur and NIT Surathkal did not share the total enrolled students data in the RTIs and so these institutes were removed from the analysis for the graph below.

Hello aspirant,
It is never a easy task to get admission in any NIT college of India. But if ask me whether a average student can join NIT then the answer is in affirmative. If a average study as per his or her potential then he can get admission in NOT Warangal.
Thank you
Hope this information helps you.
Yes, you can pursue an MS in Computer Science from abroad even with a BTech in Mechanical Engineering from India. While a CS undergrad is ideal, universities value well-rounded students with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, which mechanical engineering cultivates. Highlight any CS or programming courses you took during your BTech. If your background is light, consider taking online courses or MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) in CS fundamentals to demonstrate your interest and ability.
Some universities offer MS in CS programs with bridges or preparatory courses for students from non-CS backgrounds. Look for programs that acknowledge the value of your engineering background while providing a foundation in CS.

This year iitm to set a record, general cut off to be 50. All those scored low need not worry as per data with leading coaching institutions
It is unlikely you'll be eligible for AP ECET counselling with a current backlog in your diploma.
Most sources mention that candidates must possess a Diploma in Engineering and Technology from the State Board of Technical Education of Andhra Pradesh (or a recognized AICTE institution) with a minimum percentage (usually 40-45%) to be eligible for AP ECET counselling.Since you have a backlog, you likely haven't received your diploma certificate yet. This might make you ineligible for counselling at this stage.
If you clear your backlog and obtain your diploma certificate before counselling begins (usually July 2024 for AP ECET), you might be eligible to participate.
