QnA related to JEE Main

With 76 percentile in JEE Main, getting into top NITs or IIITs for popular branches like CSE is difficult. But you can still get admission in some good private colleges and state-level engineering colleges. You can also explore branches like Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical in government colleges with this score. It’s important to apply in counseling and look for home state quota or management quota seats. Keep working hard and consider options based on your interests and budget.

With an SC category rank of 40,098 in JEE Mains, admission in top NITs or IIITs for popular branches like CSE will be very tough. But you can still get seats in some newer or less competitive NITs, GFTIs, or private universities, especially for branches like Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical. Also, check your home state counseling for reserved seats. Keep options open and focus on colleges with good placements and facilities. Don’t lose hope—many good colleges are available beyond top NITs.

With a JEE Mains CRL rank of 9,85,559, getting admission in top government colleges like NITs or IIITs is very unlikely. Most government colleges have cutoff ranks much better than this. However, you can try for government colleges in your home state through state-level exams or counseling if they have lower cutoff marks. Also, consider private colleges or universities that accept JEE scores. Keep exploring all options and focus on improving your rank if you want better colleges next time.

Scoring 70 in GPAT is good, but eligibility for NIPER JEE 2025 depends on specific criteria set by NIPER. Usually, candidates need a valid GPAT score to apply for NIPER JEE, but the exact cut-off marks or eligibility can change each year. To be sure, you should check the official NIPER JEE 2025 notification or website. They will clearly mention the minimum GPAT score or other requirements for eligibility. So, keep an eye on official updates to confirm your eligibility.

With a 5600 OBC rank in JEE Mains, you have a good chance to get admission in decent government or private engineering colleges. You might get branches like Computer Science, Electronics, or Mechanical in some good NITs or IIITs, but it depends on your state and category quota. Also, check state-level engineering colleges and private universities with good placements. Use official counselling websites like JoSAA or your state counselling portal to see which colleges and branches are available for your rank.

Hello Bhuvan,

This is a personal decision based on a few important components:

  1. Goal Clarity: If IIT Bombay is your dream school and you feel you can prepare for the next iteration of JEE Advanced, dropping a year to study for JEE Advanced is a reasonable option. A dedicated and focused drop year has helped many students achieve great scores on JEE Advanced, and the top ranks.
  2. Current Opportunity: NIT Surathkal is one of the top NITs with opportunities for excellent placements, research opportunities, and the opportunity for interactions with top companies - especially for ECE/EEE. After that, with good academics, you can potentially earn your way into top M.Tech programs like MIT, Stanford, or IITs via GATE or GRE.
  3. Risk vs Reward: Dropping a year has a risk component: mental and academic risk. Think about whether you can handle that level of pressure and if your performance at JEE Advanced can improve with one more year of preparation.
  4. Ambition for MIT M.Tech: For M.Tech, you don't need an IIT degree to get into MIT. Strong research and projects, GRE scores, and thoughtful and compelling YES at SOP matter more than an IIT degree. Many students from top NITs get into MIT and other institutions throughout the world.

Hello! With a JEE Mains score of 94.32 and 86% in 12th, your son has a good chance to get a seat in SASTRA University under the EWS category. SASTRA is known for quality education and good placements. I recommend applying through their official admission process and also checking for any entrance or counseling updates for EWS seats. Make sure to complete all required documents and submit the application on time to increase his chances. Good luck!

With 70 percentile in 10+2 and 95 percentile in JEE Main Paper 2 (which is for B.Arch), you have a good chance to get a seat in some NITs for B.Arch. Admission mainly depends on your JEE Main Paper 2 rank and the cut-off for the NITs you want. Since your percentile is strong in JEE Paper 2, you should participate in JoSAA counseling and check the opening and closing ranks for B.Arch seats in NITs to find the best fit for you.

With your OBC-NCL rank of 949 in JEE Paper 2 and being female, getting a seat in SPA Vijayawada might be tough. Last year, the closing rank for OBC-NCL was around 619, and for female candidates, it was even better (lower rank needed). But since you are close, you should definitely try in JoSAA counseling and choose SPA Vijayawada as a preference. Sometimes, extra female seats (supernumerary quota) can help. Also, look at other SPAs like Bhopal and Delhi as backup options. Good luck!
