To calculate the scores in the KEAM 2026 exam, the authority will combine both the entrance exam marks and Class 12 board marks. Candidates can calculate their KEAM 2026 marks using the following steps: KEAM 2026 - Counselling (Started), Rank List, Marks Entry, Cutoff, Admission Process
Step 1: The final KEAM 2026 score is obtained by combining
50% of the KEAM entrance exam score
50% of Class 12 PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) board marks
These two scores are then normalised to ensure uniformity
Step 2: Calculate KEAM Entrance Score (Out of 480)
The KEAM exam has 2 papers:
Paper I (Physics & Chemistry) – 120 questions (480 marks)
Paper II (Mathematics) – 120 questions (480 marks)
Component | Details |
Subjects | Paper I: Physics & Chemistry Paper II: Mathematics |
Total Questions per Paper | 120 questions each (total 240) |
Total Maximum Marks (KEAM) | 960 marks (480 + 480) |
Marks for Correct Answer | +4 marks |
Marks for Wrong Answer | –1 mark (negative marking) |
Maximum Marks per Paper | 480 marks |
Total score = Sum of Paper I and Paper II (Out of 960)
Step 3: Normalize and Calculate Class 12 Board Marks
Subjects considered: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
Board marks are converted to 300 marks (100 per subject)
These are then normalised by the Kerala CEE using a standard method (based on the highest scores across boards)
After normalisation, the 12th Board scores contribute to 50% of the final score
Step 4: Apply the KEAM Score Formula
Once the normalised scores for the KEAM exam and 12th marks are available, they are added using the below formula
KEAM Final Score = (Normalized Entrance Marks × 0.5) + (Normalized Class 12 PCM Marks × 0.5)
The authority will consider various factors to determine the KEAM marks vs rank 2026:
Total number of seats available for admissions
Difficulty level
KEAM reservation policies based on candidate categories
Normalisation procedures for marks
The highest marks were achieved by any candidate
Trends in previous year's cutoff scores
Candidates can also determine which college they might get admission into using the KEAM 2026 college predictor. It utilises the candidate’s KEAM 2026 scores to determine the colleges that the candidate has a chance. This will be helpful while choosing colleges during the KEAM counselling
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
