Before applying for MTech Admission without a GATE Score into NITs, candidates must meet the basic eligibility. This eligibility is common despite the channel being chosen by the candidate. The following are the basic eligibility that candidates need to fulfil
Qualifying Degree: Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech.) or equivalent in a relevant field.
Minimum CGPA: 6.5 (on a 10-point scale) or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD candidates). This can be relaxed if the candidate provides proof of research such as publications or research papers.

a)Full- Time Sponsored Mode
Eligible candidates can take a study leave from their employment and pursue MTech as regular students. However, candidates can only apply through the full-time sponsored mode if the sponsoring institute grants 2 year study leave to the candidate.
b) Part time Sponsored Mode
The Part time MTech programmes in NIT without GATE scores is for those candidates who would like to pursue MTech simultaneously while still working at the respective organisation. The duration of the part-time mode is usually around 3 years, and the classes will be conducted in the evenings. This is to accommodate the candidate’s work schedule.
Eligibility for both Sponsored full time and Part-time Admission: The basic eligibility for candidates to apply for Sponsored admissions for both full and part- time modes in NITs are as follows.
Educational Qualifications
Must have a valid B.E./B.Tech./AMIE degree in the relevant discipline
Minimum CGPA of 6.5 or 60% in qualifying degree. For SC/ST/PwD candidates, a minimum CGPA of 6.0 or 55% marks is required.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience in a field that is relevant to the chosen M.Tech specialization. Candidates working in the following institutes can apply

Age Limit

Selection process:

Selection of the candidates:
Candidates must apply on the official websites of the respective NITs. The authority will release the application forms to apply for the sponsored mode online.
The NITs are expected to conduct a written test and a personal interview for the final selection of the candidates.
Once the authority concludes the interview of the shortlisted candidates, they will release a merit list which contains the details of the candidates being offered admission to the MTech programmes without GATE Score.
Result for the Sponsored mode: The authority will publish the results of the Sponsored mode for both full time and part time on the CCMT website. Candidates need to login to the CCMT login portal to check their selection status online.
Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) was launched by the government to improve the reaching quality and expertise of teaching faculty in degree and diploma level institutions in the country. The conducting body for QIP is AICTE. This channel of admission is exclusively for teachers of recognised AICTE institutes to upgrade their skills
Course Duration: The course duration is 2 years as it is the regular MTech degree

Only the teaching faculty from AICTE-approved Polytechnic Institutes will be eligible to pursue M.E./ M.Tech ./ Ph.D. programme.

Application Process for QIP Mode:
The registration process for QIP mode can be found below
1)Registration & Upload of Documents: Eligible candidates can apply for admission through the QIP channel into NITs on the AICTE QIP portal. While registration, candidates will be required to upload scanned copies of the necessary documents on the portal. The list of required documents are mentioned below
i. Photo
ii. Aadhaar Card
iii. No Objection Certificate
iv. Mark Sheets and Certificates
v. Gate / JRF / NET Score card, if applicable

2)Interview/ Written Test: The institutes will conduct either a written test or conduct an interview for the candidates
3) Submission of Hard copies: Candidates will be required to submit hard copies of the uploaded documents along with relieving letter from the parent institute
4) Release of Merit list: The QIP centre will release a merit list with the names of the short listed candidates. The merit list will also contain a list of the waitlisted candidates.
5)Joining Letter: The authority will then issue the joining letter to the selected candidates. Only those candidates who have submitted the following documents will be issued the joining letter.
i. NOC from the parent Institute of the candidate.
ii. Relieving letter from the Parent Institute.
iii. Administrative approval of the affiliating University.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development allows foreign candidates or NRI candidates direct admission into NITs. The program is called the Direct Admission of Students Abroad(DASA). The admission through DASA will be done based on the GRE/GMAT scores of the candidates.
Eligibility for DASA

1)Educational Requirements:
Applicants must have passed the qualifying examination i.e. Four/ Five year undergraduate programme in Engineering/ Technology or equivalent in relevant discipline from an Association of Indian Universities, UGC or AICTE- recognised University.
A minimum total of 300 GRE Revised General Test Score (Verbal + Quantitative for eligibility for M.Tech)
Must have secured a minimum of at least 60% aggregate marks or 6.00 CGPA on a 10 point scale or equivalent in the qualifying examination.
2) Age Limit: No age limit is specified. Hence candidates of any age can apply for admission through DASA.
3) Residential Requirements:
Applicants must be Foreign Nationals, PIOs, OCIs who have completed undergraduate programme in any country (including India) OR
Indian Nationals who have completed their undergraduate programme outside India. OR
Indian Nationals who have acquired NRI status and holding it for the last three years after obtaining undergraduate degree from India OR
Indian Nationals who have completed undergraduate programmes in any CFTI under the DASA Scheme. OR
Indian Nationals who have completed undergraduate programmes in India but have completed their 11th and 12th standard (or equivalent) from outside India.
DASA Application process:
The DASA application process will be conducted in two stages. The first stage is the Online Application and the second stage is the submission of the GRE/GMAT scores. The details of the application process is given below
i) Step 1: Online application and submission of required documents
Candidates must fill out the registration form and upload the required scanned documents while applying for admission to MTech in NITs through DASA. The steps required for the DASA application are mentioned below
a)Registration: Candidates should create their DASA login at dasanit.org. The email id will be required, once it is successfully created, candidates will be assigned an Applicant ID. Candidates will be able to login using their DASA applicant ID and password to fill the application form. The DASA Login credentials must be safely kept as it will be required for all future events.
b) Form filling: Candidates should enter all the required information as mandated in the application form. Candidates will also be required to enter their choice of institute and preference of courses while filling the form. There is no limit to the number of choices that can be given. The following documents will also be required to be uploaded during the application process.
I. Latest passport size photograph in JPG format
ii. Scanned signature of applicant in JPG format
iii. Scanned copies of relevant documents in JPG/ JPEG format
c) Preview the DASA Application Form: Candidates can preview their DASA application form before the final submission. To preview, they need to check the “Preview application form”. In case any errors are found, candidates can also use the “edit application form” option to edit the details before submission. DASA does not provide the option for application form correction, hence candidates must ensure they submit the application form only after all details are verified.
d)Submission of the Application form: Candidates must submit the error-free application form along with the scanned copies of the required documents. The list of documents is mentioned below

ii) Step 2: Submission of GRE/ GMAT score:
Candidates with valid applications will then be shortlisted based on their GRE/GMAT scores. The choices of the institutions given by the candidates will also play a factor in the allotment of seats in the NITs. GRE test score has to be sent directly through ETS to NIT Raipur. GMAT Score is also to be sent directly from GMAC to NIT Raipur.
The authority will release a DASA merit list based on the GRE/GMAT scores of the candidates. In case of the same GRE/GMAT scores, the authority will employ the following tie-breaking criteria

iii) Allotment of seats
Candidates will be allotted seats based on the choices submitted by them. In case the first preference of the candidate is unavailable, candidates will be assigned the second choice on their preference list.
The authority will release the DASA seat allotment in multiple rounds. Any candidate that has not been allotted any seats in the first allotment round will be eligible for the second seat allotment round. Once the candidate has been allotted seats, they have to check and submit their confirmation on the online portal.
A provisional allotment letter will be generated for those candidates who have accepted their seats. The candidates will have to report to the concerned institutes and submit the letter along with original documents for verification. Once the verification is concluded, candidates need to pay the fee for admission.
