Hello Puja
Yes , you can change your category in the April JEE Main session . The category you select during the January session does not lock you into it for the entire year . During the correction window for the April attempt , you will have the opportunity to update your category if you have your certificate by then .
Since you are in the General category for the January attempt , you will need to make sure that you change it to your correct category ( VJNT or OBC ) during the correction period .
This is completely valid as long as you provide the required category certificate during the April session .
Hope it helps you .
ALL THE BEST
Hello
JEE Mains , your eligibility for OBC ( Other Backward Classes ) reservation depends on the specific criteria set by the government for that category .
Being a Shaik Muslim may fall under the OBC category in some states , but it is essential to verify whether your community is recognised as OBC by the central government .
For JEE Mains , you will need to provide a valid OBC-NCL ( Non-Creamy Layer ) certificate to avail of any OBC-specific benefits . Being a Shaik Muslim does not automatically qualify you as a minority under the Central OBC category . In the context of minorities , the government considers communities like Muslims , Christians , Sikhs , Buddhists and others as minorities , but specific benefits are usually separate from the OBC reservations .
Thank you
You cannot use your BCE (Backward Class-E) certificate from Telangana as OBC-NCL for JEE Mains.
The BCE category is a state-level categorization whereas OBC-NCL, on the other hand, is a central government categorization.1 The central government does not recognize BCE for central level exams like JEE Mains.
So, you cannot claim the advantages of OBC reservation in JEE Mains by producing your BCE certificate. You would have to apply in the General category.
