What is JoSAA 2026 dual reporting?

The JoSAA 2026 dual reporting simply means that shortlisted candidates have to report each time there is a change in the seat allotment criteria. It is applicable in the following cases.

  • Candidates who choose the “float” option after the first round of JoSAA seat allotment 2026 and are allotted a different category institute in the second round.

  • Since the JoSAA 2026 reporting centres for IIITs and NIT+ institutes are different, dual reporting may happen if the candidate is allotted to one category in the first round and the other category in the next round of JoSAA counselling 2026.
