Have a question related to JEE Advanced ?

Hello

To qualify for JEE Advanced 2025 , candidates must rank among the top 2,50,000 in JEE Main. The cutoff percentile varies each year but is generally around:

General: 93+ percentile

OBC-NCL: 79+ percentile

EWS: 81+ percentile

SC: 60+ percentile

ST: 46+ percentile

ALL THE BEST

Hello Aspirant,

To qualify for JEE Advanced , candidates must be in the top 2.5 lakh of JEE Main. The minimum qualifying marks for JEE Advanced vary each year but generally range from 35-45% of the total marks in the exam.

  • General Category : Typically requires 50-60% of the total marks (around 180-210/360 ).

  • Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBC) : Usually requires 40-50% of the total marks (around 140-180/360 ).

These are estimated cutoffs based on previous trends, and the exact marks can vary.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Hello there,

The JEE Advanced qualifying cutoff (minimum percentile for eligibility) will be released after the April JEE Mains attempt , along with the final JEE Main 2025 results .

Timeline:

  • January Attempt Result: No official JEE Advanced cutoff will be released at this stage. Only individual percentiles and scores will be declared.

  • April Attempt Result (Final JEE Mains Result): NTA will release the JEE Advanced 2025 eligibility cutoff along with All India Ranks (AIR) and category-wise cutoffs for appearing in JEE Advanced.

Thus, the final cutoff for JEE Advanced eligibility will be announced after the April attempt when both sessions are considered.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

If you crack JEE Mains and appear for JEE Advanced but fail to qualify, you don't need to reappear for JEE Mains.

Your JEE Mains score and rank will remain valid, and you'll be eligible for admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs based on your JEE Mains score.

However, if you want to reappear for JEE Advanced, you'll need to reappear for JEE Mains and secure a rank within the top 2.5 lakh candidates to be eligible for JEE Advanced.

Hope it helps!!

In JEE Advanced, your OBC rank and CRL (Common Rank List) rank are two separate rankings, and the relationship between them varies each year. While it's not a fixed conversion, historically, an OBC rank of 350 could be roughly equivalent to a CRL rank around 1,500-2,000, though this can fluctuate based on factors like the total number of candidates and their performance.

Here’s a rough way to estimate the CRL rank:

1. Find the Total Number of Candidates: Check how many people appeared for JEE Advanced that year.

2. OBC Category Percentage: Find out how many of those candidates belong to the OBC category.

3. Estimate the CRL Rank: Multiply your OBC rank by the inverse of the OBC percentage.

For example, if OBC candidates make up about 50% of the total candidates, your CRL rank could be roughly double your OBC rank, so an OBC rank of 350 could translate to a CRL rank of about 700.

However, this is just an approximation. The actual CRL rank can vary each year based on the specific distribution and performance of candidates. It’s always best to refer to the official JEE Advanced resources or speak with academic advisors for the most accurate information.
