Yes, you are eligible to appear for the NEET UG exam while pursuing BMLT .

Eligibility Criteria for NEET UG

  • Qualification: You must have passed 12th with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology) with the required percentage (40% for SC/ST/OBC, 50% for General).

  • Age: You must be at least 17 years old by 31st December of the admission year . There is no upper age limit .

  • Attempts: No attempt limit for NEET UG.

Since you are in first year of BMLT , you can continue your NEET preparation alongside your studies and attempt the exam in the coming years. If you qualify, you can leave BMLT and join MBBS .

You can get government seat at the Vijayanagara Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) in Bellary, Karnataka by writing the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) conducts centralized counseling for MBBS seats at VIMS based on NEET scores.
